The most important thing everyone needs to understand, is that EAM is not trying to compete with Blizzard. No, EAM is attempting to find their own place in the MMORPG universe. They are doing this by bringing to market, a game that is far and away different from anything out there right now.
Will this game be for everyone???....NO! However, niether is WOW. The truth is, I hate WOW with the passion of 1000 Burning Suns, but I love almost everything about WARHAMMER ONLINE. Why???...because they are so different.
In the end you can choose to call this game whatever you want. As for me, I will call it....HOME!

I feel WAR is almost like a First Person Shooter mixed with an MMORPG, in the sense you can jump in PvP and out fairly quickly like a FPS, yet you have lots of RPG depth to your character, game play and world. The best of both worlds.
WoW almost does that with BG's, but PvP is far from WoW's main priority and it show's in the lack of end game PvP and constant lack of PvP balance due to class, and overpowered gear issues.
Like all games, it'll appeal to some and won't to others. Just don't fall for the hype. I've yet to see a game come out that wasn't overhyped.

Like most mmo's these days, we are left with slim pickings. Which one is best really? They might both be shit but which one is the best shit?
I am/was a guild leader in AoC, a guild of over 300 total in our lifespan in AoC, however i had to leave. Rather, i was forced to leave for a few reasons. The game was crap, i wasnt a fanboy ( I see a product for what it is and was), and finally i rolled on the only faction pvp server they had, which was ruined by non faction supporting players.
In other words, the game Effen blows.
Now at this point we have a few options go to Vanguard, which has become a better game ( though not in the pvp department, though short of amazing in the pve dept), or wait for WAR.
Sadly nothing, and i mean nothing has been able to touch WoW quality in terms of product. While some of you might hate WoW, it has still.... only been the one product that has been released with a solid bout of quality. While i do not believe that WoW is a product of depth, it is still... a product of ultimate quality. Its sub count backs up this statement. While Games like Vanguard and SWG might include the depth im looking for, i will always lean towards quality. Something no game dev in the mmorpg genre has been able to provide since WoW. The closest we have seen is Vanguard ( in its current state), but otherwise its looking grim.
What is the best or the lesser evils, i will pick that. What can i say, i neeeeeeeeed and mmo. Pathetic? maybe, but it makes life more fun.
nuff said!...I will be playing this game for years to come. After all I have seen and read, this is by far the best game I have seen since pre-CU SWG. All I have to say is go to the WAR ONLINE website and various other sites and checkout the PODCASTs and VIDEOs... YOU BE THE JUDGE!!!

People are so got damn desperate to get in the game that they see a NDA break when a person says they ate sausage and eggs while playing War beta, jeez give it a rest.
If you beleive he is breaking NDA report it to EA/Mythic, they will give you a spot in beta if your computer is up to specs
Well, I checked out the G4 site and Warhammer took best overall PC game, not just best MMOG. It beat out such top titles as Fallout 3, Spore, and Left For Dead - all games I also can't wait to play.

What I wanted to say though, is that comments like this are not really helpful to any of us who are trying to assess this game. I know I will like it (provided it isnt bugged), but others are still undecided.
Perhaps when you say stuff like this qualify the statement a little more? Say if your just dissapointed or if you totally hate the game and will not play it.
Oh and if you really are bored with beta WAR, there are a ton of people who would love your beta account!

My friend is in beta, wont tell me about the content (bastard lol) but hes enjoying it to no end.
Think I'll take the route of waiting until its released and playing the live version before jumping on the bandwagon. Sure, I liked DAOC and hope this game exceeds it. But in the end, might just not suit my tastes anymore, as I've come to appreciate harsher, more sand-box type games as I've grown older.
