I would love to hear your thoughts and comments on my newest article about Undocumented Patch Notes, as it applies to people who play Age of Conan probably more so than any other MMO.
Thanks.

You mean stealth nerfs ? Most games i've played had them periodically , SWg had them the most from any game ,that I remember anyway.I never really noticed in AOC , But I only played for about 5 1/2 weeks .I also haven't seen a great deal of posts about them , But I generally only visist MMORPG.com.

I haven't noticed any stealth nerfs either, but the Demonologist class has hardly been changed at all since launch so I can't really comment.
I can't understand this obsession with invisible walls though. I have noticed that many slopes initially appear impossible to climb, but often it is just a matter of getting the angle right. I am not saying this is true in all cases, but I am familiar with the issue because skirting the edges of mountains is one of my favourite ways of avoiding annoying random encounters when I am trying to quickly navigate a zone, including the 'eiglophian mountains' as mentioned in the OPs article.
If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?
Take the Hecatomb? TCG What Is Your Doom? quiz.
Invisible walls really ruin any MMORPG experience for me.
Dont like the invisibkle walls either
As for undocumented patch notes. Not a biggie, got used to them back in the days of EQ1.

I've never played SWG so I can't attest to what their patching like. AoC has a staggering amount of stuff that is left off, often time major nerfs. I find it hard to believe you never noticed them, unless your playing one of the select few classes to not take a nerf bat. You should go visit the AoC general forums and try to wade through the insanity and outrage over there. That place makes these forums look like Disney Land.

I was playing a ranger, And never noticed anything like a 40-60% drop in my damage. As for the Oboards na , The little bit that trickles over here is enough for me .

I definately hear you. Most people were upset just because of stealth nerfs but like the OP i was always baffled by the whole range of stealth changes.
Why should players have to guess what changes have been made, negative or positive?
Is it deliberate? Is FC making the decision not to inform the playerbase about certain changes?
Or is it incompetence? Perhaps FC is unaware of what is going on and their devs also look to the inevitable 'undocumented patch notes' thread that pops up on the forums to find out what else has been changed.
Either way whether they are stealth nerfs or even stealth positive changes its just disrespectful and a sign of a company/dev team that isn't on the ball. Though of course that is old news.

"Much angry people on the official forums tonight it seems, there are. Herh herh herh. Funcom shot themselves in the foot again. Want their own game to fail, they must. Yes, hmmm."

LOL. I woke up this morning and sensed a disturbance in the force. I go look at the AoC forums and I can see why. Cancellation threads and posts all over the server I played on, all over the general boards. Random nerfs, more broken shit, mods locking threads, and the PvP system is still MIA. Imagine how big of a debacle that patch will be when this much happens on a normal one.

Hey, nice blog. I have just added a comment, as this particular one caught my attention:
"
If I'm not mistaken Funcom also said that farming lower level dungeons for loot and cash was considered an exploit."
Actually, this is very funny to see. In LOTRO, with the last patch Turbine has introduced a system, where high level players are encouraged to re-visit old group quests and instances. This is to encourage them to help out newer players to find groups more easily - not only is this NOT considered an exploit, but it is even encouraged to such a degree, that by doing this players can collect tokens that can be turned in for excellent rewards.
Interesting, isn't it?

Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is.

That's because Turbine Devs realize that if new players are not having fun they will quit playing. They also seem to know that old players appreciate a bit of a reward other than a warm fuzzy feeling and a pat on the butt for taking time to help the new players. LoTRO has a great community but even a great community liek a bit of material ( even if it is digital) compensation for their time. Funcom just expects people will play for the pretty graphics and pixilated blood and boobs. Screw making the game play fun and rewarding.Calling FC Devs Devs is a travesty of the term Devs.
Funcom just puzzles me. I actually liked the game for a couple of weeks, but between the crap customer service and just plain boring because of the crap loot tables and linear game play I decided to put it down for a while until they tweaked it in a bit. Now I think it will come off my hard drive before tomorrows hard drive cleanup and defrag. Every patch just makes it less and less likely I will ever play it again.
