I've been playing this game for a few weeks now, dived into some endgame content, scored over 2000 kills with a suffering PVP class (the Barbarian) and can honestly say I have a full view of how the game is currently standing. I've been through many experiences and had a lot of fun, and I have to say it: this game is the best game I have EVER played. Simple. No other game even compares. What makes me think this? I will elaborate!

    1. Helpful GM's.

    http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4...pfulgmsxf6.png

    http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/8/helpfulgms2sx5.png

This is the first thing that struck me when I started playing this game. As soon as I made my character I was faced with a zerg of different bugs and glitches, all of which the GM's tried to help me fix. The customer service is AMAZING. They have an elaborate, new petition system where I simply type a single word in chat, and within 10 minutes (using an innovative class system that has never been seen before) I am able to get an official response to my issue. The GM's have been nothing but helpful and polite to my queries and I commend you, Funcom, on this achievement. You must have a highly paid, highly trained customer service to have the GM's maintain this level of morale. They promptly reply to every single question I throw at them. I haven't had one that actually fixed my problem, or didn't recommend me to support within the first 10 seconds of our sadly brief conversation, but otherwise a great effort!

    2. Socialist PVP System

Funcom is always at the height of innovation. This new Player. Vs. Player system is no exception! Using an original and thought provoking leveling system where you get real XP and PVP XP for kills (This has not been seen in any other game, ever) Funcom will be able to ensure that there is PVP content for weeks to come after the implementation of the PVP patch, to be released soon™. This will give everyone a fun new level grind to entertain themselves with and bring their Age of Conan experience to a whole new level. Funcom put the fun in Player. Vs. Player and have devised quite possibly the best PVP system ever created, a system that will reward you for killing other players with epic gear seen in various shades of black and brown. Another great example of Funcom innovation can be seen with the handling of groups. Someone in your group kills someone? Rightfully so, you are also granted a kill and 100 XP just like you actually killed someone yourself! Having trouble getting to PVP level 20? No worries, friend! Party with 5 mates, manage a Kill to Death ratio of over 1:6 and you'll be PVP level 20 before you even realise just how bad you are!

    3. Innovative Clothing

    http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/8704/clothingvh8.png

One of the most prominent things AOC has to offer. The clothing in the Conan universe is renowned by game critics as one of the most amazing, original clothing collections ever seen in an MMO. Funcom has done an amazing job here, and you can expect every class to look different, no matter what two classes you compare. Assassins scale rooves in their brown cloth garb, while Barbarians sever peoples heads in their cold-resistant brown leather, and on the other side of the picture, the conqueror in all his glory, donning brown chain mail while leading battles against the brown nemedians. The clothing in Age of Conan is visible wherever you go, all over the conan universe, and can only be described as visually STUNNING. It's RP-encouraging and very 'fresh' and is one of the most prominent reasons why the game is so successful, and will continue to succeed for a long time into the future.

    4. Original Map Design

    http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/8...pdesignah0.png

    http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/9...design2kj7.png

They must have hired an architect to design these maps. They are unbelievably creative. The environments in this game are one of the defining features, and I feel that they attract a lot of the playerbase. You can stride into any zone and see a whole new area, a whole new experience unlike any other zone, keeping the leveling fresh for every single level you play through. This, combined with the thousands of quests available ingame, creates a playing experience unmatched by any other game that has ever been created, or will be created. The quests in this game allow you to explore every corner of the zone, and combining this with no invisible walls or restrictions on climbing, Funcom has truly created an environment that I feel imersed in. From the snowy hills of Atzels, to the snowy hills of Eiglophian Mountains, to the snowy hills of Field of the Dead, to the snowy hills of Conall's Valley....

    5. City Creation

Funcom KNOW that players like working together, and using the unique architecture system, players are able to create their own keeps and guild cities to help them prosper in the Conan universe. In order to encourage co-operation between players, a rather large material cost has been put on the cities creation! The resource requirements consist of 60,000 individual material pieces that your guild needs to aquire to build their tier 3 city. This means players can work together in resourcing zones like never before, and I feel that the game makes good use of the exciting resource quests to achieve this and keeps players encouraged to contribute towards their guild! See what I did there with the word Keeps? Now, like never before, you can work with your friends and collide your pick with rock after rock after rock after rock.

    6. Grief Protection

    http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/6...tectiondy2.png

    http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/3...ection1ke4.png

    http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/6...ection2zq3.png

No one likes a griefer. Griefing is the bane of MMO's today, and Funcom realizes this. There is many innovative systems in place to avoid griefing. For instance, instantly after resurrecting at one of the many resurrection points scattered around Hyboria you are given a buff! You become invincible and are allowed to change instances, teleport and restore your health points. I have found this to be one of the most effective anti-griefing methods around, arguably even the best anti-griefing concept ever concieved. Another example of the grief protection in the game is the CROUCH skill! The crouch skill literally allows you to WALK THROUGH PEOPLE. No more pesky players blocking up doors and preventing new players from experiencing the Age of Conan universe for themselves! Funcom ensured that your time in the Hyborian universe will not be affected by other players at all, so that you can appreciate the game in all it's glory. Funcom have also prevented griefing by making sure you don't lose any gear on death - phew, no one wants to take risk's in Player Vs. Player combat! Aren't you happy? I'm happy.

    7. Next Generation PVE Content

    http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/1...contentir7.png

    http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/9...ontent2pk4.png

The Raid Design team is amazing! Games like WoW and EverQuest simply steal content from their competitors, but not Age of Conan! Sick of killing cliche dragons? Sick of big red demon commanders that have been seen in every single MMO to date? What about hopeless game designers who make every single tier 1 raid a dungeon of some kind? Even uncreative raid instances starting with the word "Black" used to imply some level of evil unseen in the previous 3 clusterfu?k dungeons? The real evil is MMO's who steal off other companies, and Age of Conan is the light in the dark. Featuring a lot of innovative raid content, such as killing the spellguard adds in Kylikki's, killing the horror adds of Vistrix or even combating the evil minion adds of Yakhmar, Funcom make sure that you spend the LEAST TIME POSSIBLE actually hitting the boss, in order to keep all raid content refreshing and different, and more importantly, keep you on your feet.

    8. Balanced Classes

    http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/3...classeshh9.png

The most important feature of a game is balance, more important than technical issues, more important than unfinished raid content. What good is a game if the class descriptions don't match the class itself EXACTLY? Damn straight, no good at all. Funcom understand this and alter the balance in every single patch to further achieve the balance required to make an MMO successful. Funcom has original combat design, and has made sure that 6 of 12 possible classes can one shot every player they glance at. Some important changes are noted such as changes to Necromancer pets suffering from LOS and the Mystical Bane nerf for Dark Templars, two classes which were most definetly in need of adjustments. No one likes a flavour of the month player!

    9. Mature and Respectful Community

    http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/3...pectfulse0.png

    http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/8...ectful2pc2.png

What happens when people flock to play a great MMO en masse? The masses become great people too! This is evident in the Age of Conan community where helping hands are never too far away to make your time as a new player easier! A community that shuns trolls and promotes the more mature, caring crowd, is simply a great community to be in and will attract more awesome people from around the world, hailing from countries such as the US, Australia, China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. It's easy to find someone to speak to, people you share values with and people who more importantly speak the same language as you, to make your time trying to figure out what the fu?k the sh?tty interface is trying to tell you a whole lot easier! Whooooo! I'm excited.

A meeting place of the best players from all around the world. Players can converse about their day to day life in Hyboria and find new and creative ways to bash their own class until Funcom OP them into fu?king infinity.

I hope you agree with with my reasoning and continue to play this awesome game.

It makes sense if someone's played it enough to figure out that you are being sarcastic heh

Also, there's no such thing as 'best game', since everyone has their own personal tastes.. but thats beside the point of this thread lol

    LOL.

Regardless of whether you like the game or want to dance on it's grave, that is a brilliant parody.

If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?

While i agree with some of your assesment too many glitches unfixed, some ? instancing, horrible pvp made this game unplayable for me. This is just my opinion.
This game has sooooooo much potential. Ill wait to see how much of this they fix and then ill come back.

The game doesn't have that much potential at all. Even if it had been released even close to being finished, it is a mediocre game at best.

    Good potential game ...

Being that this (albeit sarcastic) post is the closest thing that I've seen to a positive post for this game I gotta ask a question. Is this thing really this bad? I had no interest in playing AoN (Age of Nipples) from it's conception so I haven't played it. But I mean... people even defended Vanguard on the boards when it came out! Is AoN even worse than that crap (yes I hear it is better now-good for you) was at release?

    The short answer: yes.

The long answer: yes, it is that bad.

    @OP: Well done.

I'd disagree , AOC has it's good points . Those good points just don't make up for it's short comings .It has IMO just as much chance that vanguard did in becoming a decent game , Neither has reached that point yet though IMO.

most people here do think it is clever, funny AND entertaining.  that and saying that here won't do anything as its simply a post from the official forums reposted here for us to see.

I gave the post points just because of the sarcasm.

There are far too few Trolls who utilize sarcasm, much less an ENTIRE post dripping with it!

It wasn't artful trolling, but at least he made up for it with sarcasm in quantity.

I love what you wrote about the map, and posted two completely boring and irrelevant screenshots of boring places in the world :) Fantastic!

I love sarcasm, and this thread made me rofl.
