I first had an experience with this game in its closed beta phase. After having gotten in, I was treated to a couple instances of the wonderous BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death), so I subsequently stopped even trying. They have seemed to fix whatever issues with that client which caused the terrible crashes. BUT, I can't make any sense about what the hell is going on in this game. Its art (models/textures) doesn't even seem to have been made by the same team. The overall feel of the world seems all over the place.
There are still randomly placed "creatures" in the world that make no sense. A field fill of ugly little eyeball monsters that have no reason to be there, and don't seem to fit in with anything around them. And they use the same creature with a different skin color and call it something else (which irritates the hell out of me). I don't see how they can call this a "horror" game other than the gore. The monsters are random and don't fit with each other.
I don't see much of a difference between this game and the other endless titles from Asia that spam our game lists. It's like Lineage 2, only even more senseless and interesting.

I also noticed that there was no background story to adhear to, but I kinda like that. You just get to roam free and do as you please. But deep down I hope they implement a boss at the end or something to that effect.
The game had a couple memory leaks, and programming related goof-ups, but hey it's a beta those type of things are to be expected.
The terms "gore" and "horror" now a days are quite inter-changeable to the mass public, take the saw movies. They are categorized as "horror" yet they are more "gore-porn" so to speak. I believe this game was designed with those "gore-porn" lover in mind.
If u wanna know more about the world, the history and the background of quest, then read this:
Background
the story and theme are blatantly obvious. its got the same f2p asian grinder story as them all...talk to insignificant npc and fetch/kill rinse and repeat. the theme is everything is bloody/ scary and your some kind of mutant or w/e (which is why the community is composed of bots and 12 year olds)
oh and to counter the storyless quests and shallow theme they type up a "backround" essay giving the "feel" of a quality, in dephth gaming experience"
The story, as far as I can make out, is that the world was devastated by a war between several races of beings and was turned into a wasteland. The gentle creatures of the world were turned into mutated horrific monsters.
In the post-apocalyptic world a faction of humans (the Ioxenics) have created 3 races of artificial beings ("temperions") whose tasks are to clean up the world of the mutant creatures and whatever else their creators need doing. By doing the quests you receive hints of some of the more horrible experiments being conducted by the Ioxenic faction in secret facilities. There is also a crazed mage who is raising an army of undead and he features in several quests; this particular storyline is not yet finished as a confrontation with the mage is inevitable. The religious faction, who worship the goddess Xenovia (?) , are opposed to the Ioxenic faction and especially the evil mage. Finally, there is the Blackhand organization, thieves who have a hand in everything and are in league with the mutated monsters for purposes not yet revealed but again hints of their plans can be discovered in quests.
So, while there is no major storyline where the grand purpose of the game is made clear, there are ongoing sub-plots which are slowly unfolding.
The Temperion stuff actually starts to really play out after you get your first job. This isn't Guildwars or LOTRO quality story telling; but it's present and it's definitely there. The Prison Riot line in Kurt, for example, was actually pretty cool.
