Is there anything close to a release date for Origins?

A friend of mine says that it's supposed to be out by the end of july/early august(he said he read it somewhere). This seems like the ideal time for the release, since WAR is coming sept. 23, most of the little DAoC fan-base that's left will flock to that. This gives DAoC one last hoorah before the WAR switch, unless WAR fails(I really hope not).

I've been wondering about this as well. Makes no sense to release this anytime soon as it competes with WAR, unless its a market lead in to get players into the Mythic fold prior to War's launch. Then if they offered a multi-game sub fee (say 19.95 for both games) they'd be likely to get people to pay the extra fee.

Latest rumor i've heard from the San Diego fanfare is later then Aug/Sep.... Maybe not even this year....
Warhammer will be out long before Origins.... RIP Origins, you breathed life back into DAoC for a couple months with blind hype.... You'll be missed.

Heard the same thing...post phoned....infefinately.My conjecture....it's launch got too close to a potential WAR launch.....so it won't see the light of day .Given the number of mmog launches of expansions and new games in the 2nd half of 2008.....the end may be near for DAOC.

They probably figured everyone would be playing WAR, which is probably true.
This news sucks, i was lookin for something to play this summer. This is a bad move imo as everyone will be playing WAR when this comes out. (me included)
Yeah, when I read that, it felt to me like they are setting us up for the "it's not going to happen" message.
That news, while not shocking, is disappointing. I don't care much for WAR, especially after they cut the cities and classes that they did. However, my first and most favorite MMORPG is DAOC and I was thrilled to hear they were releasing an Origins server.
I'll be honest; I'd be pissed if they don't release an Origins server and I would think differently about Mythic if they didn't as well. You can't tease and get the hopes up of a playerbase who is crazy about the old DAoC and not deliver. It's just wrong.
I bet they won't cancel the Origins server, because they know they got the hopes up and already told us they would release an Origins server. Mythic delivered the last time they ran a poll like this and they will deliver this time. Right now they have WAR on their hands and probably need the extra people to work on getting WAR out the door, rather than an Origins server.

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do.
