Dell Dimension 4700 user needs help with Microphone
I have tried a few different types of mics with this computer and nothing works because of the setup of the PC. For example the plug that goes into the front of the ONLY mic slot is too small for the hole. I tried around back and there is nothing that seems to work either. Does anyone who is familar with this PC have any advise on a mic that actually works on it for gaming? Or know if I'm doing anything wrong? Thanks.

Try a USB mic or headset.
The specs for this computer say it should be a 3.5mm Connector Microphone.
Get an adapter. If the jack is too small get a 2.5mm male to a 3.5mm female. If the jack is too big then get a 6.3mm male to a 3.5mm female. There are also adapters going from a 3.5mm male to others. However, you seem to have a 3.5mm jack.
