Tried scratching? ;p
It is all in the mind. I have an issue with itching when playing video games sometimes, especially games like Rock Band or Guitar Hero that don't allow you the time to scratch. I have an itch on my arm and start thinking about because I can't easily scratch it and by thinking about it I make it worse. Finally when I get the chance to scratch it I start to itch on my head, then when I scratch that I itch on my leg, then my face, then my back, then my arm again. One day I noticed this seemed to be the case and now whenever I itch at an inconvenient time I think about this and the cycle begins. I can't really help thinking about it. But anyway, my point is that it is all in the mind. At least 95% of the time. In fact, since reading this thread and now posting in it I have come down with a case of "the itches". Thanks a lot. Asshole!
In my country there is a superstition that if your hand itches it means you will get money for that day.
