Runes of Magic: Dual Class Dev Journal

StraddenStradden Managing EditorMember CommonPosts: 6,696

The folks behind Runes of Magic have released ythis new developer journal outlining the game's dual class feature.

Having just been announced a few weeks ago, Runes of Magic has already caused some buzz with some very interesting RPG features. One of these will be the highly interesting dual class system of the upcoming fantasy online role-playing game. Basically, players can choose from six main classes when starting into a new online career. According to individual preferences, they can select to play a warrior, ranger, cleric, knight, mage or a rogue. Details can be found on the official website: http://www.runesofmagic.com/en/content,3,classes.html. New classes will follow with future updates. All classes in Runes of Magic dispose of an individual skill sets with impressive combo attacks. When players reach level 10, they can select a secondary class, which augments the possible class combinations up to 30 individual combination types. Hence the dual class system of Runes of Magic functions like two characters in one and offers a lot of interesting tactical choices about how to approach the multiple challenges waiting in the game world Taborea.

Read it all here.

While interesting it's certainly not innovative since FFXI has been doing this for ages, and Guildwars has something similar as well.  With that said, I always liked this idea from FFXI so I'll watch Runes of Magic and see what else they do with their game ;)

(Edited to cover up the TRUTH (behind my stupidity))

    Also, typos in the title:

It does.  It's good to see other games which have it, though.

Class balancing is much easier to deal with when you have a subjob.

Controlling with mouse (point & click) and/or keyboard (WASD or arrow keys) is possible

    That's a good sign already ;P

    Good morning (from Germany).

    Shiineko:

This was someone from Rune of Magic trying to promote their game.  Not a fan or non-affiliated writer trying to comment on a new game.

Of course, this came from a developers journal, as it was mentioned in the article. ;)

We also had a little typo in one of our lines: "
The skills of the six main classes make use of different energy types. Warriors use rage, scouts use focus, rogues and mages need energy and clerics and knights fight with mana."

The correct line would be: "
The skills of the six main classes make use of different energy types. Warriors use rage, scouts use focus, rogues need energy and mages, clerics and knights are fighting with mana."

The real question is can you customize your character or is it like every other f2p asian game with zero options?

Isn't that the norm for F2P Asian games?   They don't get a monthly subscription, so we only get 4 faces and 4 hairstyles? :)

My chance at being a grammar nerd was short-lived.  Ah well.  Best of luck to you and your game.  I will be keeping my eye on it.
