So with Ryzom on the way back, I've been trying to get my hands on the most recent client. Fileplanet seems to be corrupt and obviously the one that used to be hosted by Ryzom's website is no longer available. I managed to find a torrent, but no one is seeding (hint hint to anyone who has it and wants to help out) - does anyone know of any mirrors with a working download of "ryzom-installer_060928.exe"?

It is very likely though that everyone will have to either download a good sized patch, or in extreme case a whole new client.
So, worrying about where to find a downloadable client, which is probably outdated anyway is quite moot in my oppinion.
I can understand that you´d want a download behind you asap, but I strongly suspect that you´re going to wind up doubble-downloading so to say.
But I´m keeping my fingers crossed anyway. Don´t want a lengthy download either

So apparently the servers are up.. did that client in the link work?
Apparently (at least on my vista x64 machine) all the downloads were corrupt, but I tried the Fileplanet one on my XP machine (haven't tried any of the others) and that extracted just fine, so I just installed and copied the files to my vista machine. The servers are up, but the authentication servers are down so they're probably still being used for restricted testing. I'm guessing when we can log in, we'll hear another announcement.
I have heard this a couple of times now. I have the client installed but how do you guys know that the actual servers are up? Am I missing something in the patcher that tells you the server status?
From what I understand, the game servers are up but the login servers are down but I don't have the slightest clue how to tell if the servers are up.

There are a few sites that still have a server status section that pings the Ryzom servers to see if they are up and running, I can't remember any of them off-hand though, I picked it up from some obscure forum thread.
Aye....it is a curiosity thing more than anything. If anyone knows the answer, I am still interested though.
Oh...and which client is the newest? The one posted in this thread or the one at filefront?

Like I said before. None of these is "new".
All downloads so far are old clients from before last server closure, that may even not be working when it comes back.

I´m pretty sure they´ll announce what to download/change when the servers are back up.

I am so glad I checked these forums. Ryzom looked pretty interesting but obviously with it going down I couldnt try it out.
Now seeing its back up I'm going to keep refreshing that site until we get some more news!
Once the account page goes live do you think there will be any Trials of some sorts?

Thats awesome! Will get that downloaded. I hope account creation appears very soon... Being a new player I cant do anything with the client without an account!
When pressing download it says :
"The server load is too high, you can try to download the Ryzom full intaller or download only the Ryzom Fixer. The Ryzom Team."
The link it gives does work though.. however I fail to believe that the server load is too high - more that the server is non existant for it. The official forums dont even know about this yet, at least i couldnt find any posts about it.

Just got a new retail box off Ebay for £4! Ace stuff.
From what I can tell, the VIP's (people who had active accounts when the servers went down) received an email and are able to play but not being a VIP, I can't say for sure myself.
Hopefully it won't be long before they let newcomers like myself in game!

I see. Hope they open up account creation within the next couple of days. My retail box should arrive in 2 days i reckon. Would like to try out the trial anyway.
I was able to log into the account page, and Status is OK for me....but I never got a email from them.
Maybe b/c I was going off of the 30days that came with the box when the servers went down....and that counted as a active sub at the time.
Hopefully I can log in

So I take it if you can log into the forums successfully (says "thank you for logging in") but then gives you this page:
xxxxx, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page... etc etc
then that means you're not one of the lucky ones who can log into the game? Heh.
Well at least it should mean they remember who I am and that my characters should still exist if there isn't a wipe etc...

Same here. When I view my account it says that the status is OK but I haven't recieved any email either so once the client is done downloading, I am definitely going to give it a shot. It would be pretty funny if I could get logged in since I did technically have an active account at the time the servers went down.......only it was an active trial account.
I signed up for the trial the very day the servers went down so I have no idea if it will work or not. It was a saaad day since I never got a chance to try the game before the servers went down.
I dont get that at all...no clue what that is about.
Still only 37% done DLing the client at this point
. Hopefully we will get some official word on the situation soon.

My guess is trial accounts are not activated and will not be able to log in. Though I'll probably try it anyway but I'm expecting to be shown the door.
