How long have you played WoW?

I was playing from a couple months after release up until about 3 months ago.  I can't say I really enjoyed the game much after TBC was released as the endless pursuit of new gear and rep just got really boring.

I find it surprising that a lot of people still seem quite enthuastic, especially with new xpac being released soon, how long have you guys actually been playing it?

I played during closed beta, and opened beta, got it for launch, played till a few months before TBC then quit, came back when the TBC came out, bout to quit untill WoTLK comes out. Been playing entirely to long.

P.S.  As a side note, I'm not a WoW fanboi, I've played every single MMO on the game list, theres just nothing better unfortunatly, hopefully Fallen Earth or WAR will beat it.

Started at launch.  Quit playing for almost 1 year between 2006-07.  Bored as hell again right now, rarely log in anymore...maybe once a week for 30 minutes to say "hi" to people.

I've been going on and off for about 2 years now... it's a very odd love/hate relationship. Overall, it's a good game, worthy of it's numbers. I myself can play around a month or two total until I move onto something else for 4-6 months. It doesn't have the power to really stick me for long periods of time. Yet it's addictive enough to have me come back to it every once in a while.

I think what I like the most about is just how immense the game world is... I don't think there is a bigger world than any game out there. Never getting a character to 70, I haven't even explored half of it. I also like the general balance of the classes (despite what people in-game say, I'd say it's pretty damn close) and the fact that they're all very useful.

But I think I'll finally break the addiction for good eventually in 2009... there's just too many great looking games coming out at that time, and I'll probably have at least one character at 70 by then... and at that point, I'll probably get tired of it.

Since Feb 2005, with 2x3month breaks in there somewhere...

started 12 february 2005 i think.. when it got released, but didn't really start playing before around may 2005..

after that i had 2 breaks, one of them lasted for about 1 year, mainly because of unhealthy addiction.. the outher break around 2 months.

From release until the beginning of 07. Then tried LOTRO, which I didn't like at the beginning, but have been playing ever since. LOTRO  grew on me like mold on cheese.

I started playing circa December 2004 -- playing for around 20-25 hours per week. Full time raider until BC was released. BC was good, but not as exciting as when I first play the original WoW -- or received my first epic.

I stopped playing around the end of 2007, used up scroll of Resurrection around the time they release Sunwell -- choose not to renew subscription as there's not much left / nothing new to do.

Tried LOTRO and AoC for a bit -- didn't like it. However, one game that gives me almost the same excitement as playing WoW was Eve Online, that game offers a unique gameplay and quite an interesting player base.

I'm looking forward to play wotlk, I've seen some changes to good directions w/ that expansion pack: gothic/Diablo-like/Medieval theme w/ weathered armor and weapon (as opposed to 'alien' feeling of BC), siege vehicles, Death Knight, a couple of new Battlegrounds, new game mechanics and of course: achievements.

Since release  with a few 2-3 month breaks, I think I took one in 05, one in 07 and a break for 3 months while I got a new pc.
