Found a post from Mark Jacobs in another discussion group on answering a question if there would be any good news, posted on August 1st. Maybe open beta news? hmm..
Seriously though, we will have some good news to impart within a week. No, it is not big, earth-shattering news like our release date but I promise (and you know I don't do that often) that it will be well-received by the community and it doesn't involve my head on a pike.  Mark |

That's awesome man. Kinda strange that there's no release date by now. I mean, we're closing in on the deadline. Either way, hopefully it's something good.
he's goign to say "Due to popular demand! We have pushed WAR back another 6 months to work on the missing cities and cut classes!"
Could be anything but with many features missing from beta I'm guessing its not the open beta annoucement.
I think he's gonna wait to announce the release date at Leipzig along with the trailer, my guess is NDA drop this newsletter.
Pretty much all the WAR naysayers ARE NOT PVP'ers, but rather everquest fairy boys who can't wait for their NEW HAIRSTYLES and DANCES, that they can show off to the opposing faction as they hold hands and sing cumbayah in Dalaran inbetween killing boars and 30 of everything for Nessingwary for the THIRD straight time.
i don't think i will be an NDA drop i think he will set an Open beta date...but only bring the NDA once this happens

Everything at this point is just guesses, cant wait to hear what it is.
Doubt it will be a NDA drop, but I have hopes for some solid info on how long the Head Start will last. Whatever it is it wont be "earth-shattering" so maybe its just info on what extra surprise the CE preorders will get.

Things I am hoping for
1) Lifetime Sub Option, or atleast the announcement of a prolonfed sub fee plan (3 months, 6 months, a year, ect...)
2) OB Beta date announced, and thus NDA removal date announced
3) Taking out 2 more classes to better balance the game
#3 is a joke btw, and a bad one at that.
What about re-adding a class ?
I beleive Mark has said he wont put in a life time sub option, but let me go digging around to see if I can be sure of that real quick.

Yep, will be nice when the NDA Is gone so trolls like this can get stomped down by us beta testers.
Nice man, I doubt it's the open beta date, but I really hope so.
Can't wait to get more people into the battle, and be able to actually tell folks whats happening in the game.
Could be open beta... Check out fileplanet, they are saying a very big MMO beta is coming soon (days)...

Very doubtful it would be Darkfall, I still think the game needs a few more months/years to develop.

Umm I am in closed beta, but anyone even keeping up with regular posted news knows parts of the UI, engine, content are not patched in yet.
usually a open beta is hand and hand with a patch for people already in beta.

People that dislike the game before even trying it will have a big surprise when the NDA is dropped, I had my doubts like everyone else that have been playing these type of games for years but wait and see... If you like the WoW UI then this game is going to be a perfect fit.
Don't remember saying I didn't like my play time in beta just that the beta isn't in release state and therefore NDA being dropped isn't likely. Could happen but it would be a bad idea in my opinion.

it's 100% warhammer. the "yes, it's coming"(play off "WAR is coming" catch phrase) gives this away along with the first entry starting with a huge font W and the second entry starting with a huge font A. the third will be an R guaranteed.

Hm you never know, the White letters in the blog on fileplanet reads: Darkness Soon. Darkfall? Maybe, but with high doubts. WAR? Almost 85% it will be that.
