This question has plagued me ever since the stress test. I tried two classes during the test, warlock and paladin, but neither really hit it off for me. I played a mage to level 7 or something when my server was down and they are pretty cool, but Im thinking about going rogue. I know a ton of people are going to play Night Elf, but Im going to play one too just because they look so much better than humans, also they look more roguish.

I will try a priest during open Beta. They made them a little less boring than they were in EQ and so I am curious if I can stand to be a priest in WoW because of it. Priest have and always will be an important role in a group or raid, but playing one in EQ was as boring as watching someone else play the game for 8 hours. =(

i believe someone on the official forums said that rogues at the moment are too strong and that in some ways are better than warriors, of course cant be tanks but can stealth alot of quests thus making it tons easier for them to lvl and quest.
Btw Ill prob be Warrior or Mage.

I'm the sort of person that likes to put tons of hours into one toon... I guess you can call me a power gamer...
I'm still up in the air between a mage or a priest. I wish I could be a gnome/priest... but dwarf will do if I do choose that class.
What will he do next?
Not sure which I will play the most but looking at Hunter and Warrior. Then I will play around with some of the other classes. Maybe I will play a Mage as that is what I always played in D&D. In the end I will most likely have them all or close to it.

Well depending on the revamp and talents the paladins get its between a NE warrior or a Human Paladin. Im hoping paladins get some kind of taunt special so I can tank in groups with him otherwise playing a paladin in a group is useless if youre supposed to be the main tank cuz you cant hold argo as well as a warrior.....
Also with the new charge nerf playing a warrior will be tougher considering how hard it will be to gain rage if you cant use charge in combat. If you accidently argo something you cant charge at it which means you start out the battle with ZERO rage and cant do any specials for a while.
So untill I see the new paladin revamp/talents and all the changes they do to warriors its a toss up between the two.

The Devil is in the details.
I will play a Gnome Warlock as my main character once retail hits. So that will be the first thing I try during OpenBeta. However, I don't know how long I'll play it. I want to try out some of the other characters too. In paticular I'd like to get a Night Elf Hunter to level 10 (to get pet), and probably try a Rogue. Other classes like a Paladin, Priest, Mage, Warrior.... are possibilities. Open Beta will be the time to try them all out.

I am going to be a gnome mage. My friend is going to be a dwarf paladin. We will pwn basically.
As to why anyone would want to be a priest, it is behond me. They are useless.

If you become a preist you will have no problem completing every instance WoW has to offer, simply because every group trying to complete an instance will want a preist along even if he is 4 lvls lower. heal and resurection are the bomb especially if the warlock can't get enough soul shards.
But I will probably never be a preist even though they can solo surprisingly well.

I went with Rogue, then I noticed that a ton of other people plan to be Rogues too. Not that it matters. I'm just suprised there's more people planning to be Rogues than Pallys. There were soooo many Pallys in stress test.
