Red Sonja - 2009

It'll be cheesy...you watch...it'll suck so bad.    Live action just totally blows any more.   I suggest they do a CGI version instead.  This ideal that Rose McGowen will make a good Red Sonja is just so out in left field.    How was it she was cast as Red Sonja in the first place?   ::rolls her eyes::

If it were me...I'd use Vallejo's original art style and use CGI to bring it to life.   Use that same fuzzy technique so that you concentrate on the characters and action and meld it with dark shadows and good story(based on  the original - and not the BS from that hack job with Bridgette whatever her name was).

Click the comic cover to read it online.

CGI yes...Rose McGowen no.

Brigitte Nielsen as Red Sonja in the '80's: yes.

    Rose McGowan: no.

By the way, McGowan was cast because she's currently boffing the director, Robert Rodriguez.

Ever see the movie? She did Sonja very well. Also, there's nothing better than a six foot tall redhead with a killer body.

Well I think a CGI version would be so much better.    With todays tech it can be done.

No doubt, after watching Beowolf I'd agree. I was merely comparing the actress who HAS played Sonja to the one who THINKS she can play Sonja.

Are you talking about the last Beowulf?  Because if you are, we might be at a disagreement here.  I found the latest CGI Beowulf to be lackluster at best.  When I saw it, I felt underwhelmed and kept thinking to the one Gerard Buttler did and much prefer it to the CGI stuff.

I'm still waiting for them to redo Conan the Barbarian and do it in a proper dark, overly sexualized, violent universe.  Perhaps they could find a newer version of a six foot redhead, give her a chain mail bikini and a sword and throw her in that movie just to make it that much better.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

Red Sonja was so cheesy, plus she couldn't carry the movie herself without AHNOLD !!!!

Another in the long list of crap that does not need a remake.
