I left WoW month or two before AOC, so its not beacuse of AOC.

AOC, unfortunately, didnt deliver. High expectations, hype and great initial selling show that players are ready for next thing, WoW is old news for sure but sadly i must say that AOC is not that "next" big thing.

So what options we have...get back to Eve, WoW, Guild Wars...or play AOC in hope that something good will be released soon (Fallen Earth, Jumpgate, BlackProphecy, Darkfall)

    If nothing else...Fallout MMORPG 2011 ;)

My case, from WOW to AOC to SWG. Just needed some vacancies from WoW. But it is really that, vacancies, since with WOTLK, guess i'll be back at WoW.

    couple of  notes:

1."wow sucks"- no it does not. Wow>AOC and almost anything else. thing is after 3.5 years playing wow , people do need a break. that doenst mean the game sucks. means player got to a point where they are burn out

2."delete  toons and ..."- none should ever delete their characters on any game. Even AOC chars.  if you dont plan to return, dont delete, just let them die. costs the same - what means nothing. Life changes in a dynamic way. What today is true , tomorrow is not.

3- Blizzard might be slow on expansion making, but i guess that is because  not only they actually put a lot of thinking on them but also because they try to release the thing with minimal amount of bugs and a degree of polish above the market standard. myself, i preffer to wait and have something decent, than get my hopes crushed by early releases (AOC).

    regards.

For me, I went from WoW to EVE to AoC to COV and Vanguard - both of which I'm playing now. CoV is fun and Vanguard really turned around. It still has it's share of problems but it's much better and deeper than AoC. The whole diplomacy thing adds a whole new level of gameplay.

I wonder what percentage have left AOC for some other game (other than WoW).  My AOC acct is still active, but I've mostly begun playing other MMOs while I wait for WotLK. In another month, my AOC acct will go dead.

i came back to wow because it plays perfectly on my PC and Blizzard doesnt stop nvidia and ati users not playing the game

Just be careful that you don't fall for exactly the same kind of trap people did when they bought AoC. The whole thing with AOC, top to bottom, is repeating itself with WAR. Everything.

As for how Blizzard determined who left for AoC, I imagine they went by all the "AoC rox" comments in the canceling process.

Better company, but I cant take the game anymore. AoC is better in its flawed state than back to the same stuff Ive been played for 3 yrs

Amen.  I will jump from one new MMO to another for the rest of my days.  Never again will I let myself get sucked into the same stupid s*** for such a long period of time only to realize it isn't the game keeping me there, but my friends and guildies.  Ask any end game raider why they play.  They sure as f*** wont come out with, "because (insert game here) is so f-ing awesome."  It's not about the games anymore guys, it's following the community.

Age of Conan will end up like Star Wars Galaxies.  A GREAT concept, but failed developers.  Well, the game will be great in 2 years from now, but who wants to wait that long.  Warhammer and WoW have more promising PvP, and All Age of Conan has for itself is the Conan title like Star Wars and Guild VS Guild cities, no matter how good it gets

Could be but i doubt that Blizzard makes a special 'quit for AoC' tab, i think they still use 'quit for another mmo' or something, not sure :)

about the fanboy thing, i still play WoW but i just bought AoC and i got 30 free play for it, i'm planning to go back  to AoC  again when there is more end-game content like quests and stuff (i got a lv60 barb), WoW is just to addictive atm.

The funny thing is that because of AoC.. Blizzard is not really worried about Warhammer.   Everyone who wanted something new probably tried AoC.. some came back.    But there won't be a huge decrease in subs for Blizzard when Warhammer launches because those folks are already gone...

I'm just glad that companies like Blizzard are rewarded financially by being ethical and actually trying to create and maintain a fun game.  Companies like Funcom will eventually release it's a waste of time and money trying to sham players.

Yep..  WOW is an endless grind.

    At endgame you can

    Grind 5mans

    Grind heroics for badges

    Grind Battlegrounds

    Grind Arena

    Grind Kara and ZA

    Grind the 6  25-man raids

    Grind Dailies

    Grind crafting/gathering

    Grind reputations

I don't think it is considered grinding when you have like 5 completely different things you can 'grind'.  Yes, you are at the level cap, but there are easily 5 different things a casual player can do to improve his character.  All of them are viable and none of them are broken.  Do some battlegrounds, then run a heroic dungeon.. maybe do some dailies and gather mats for you profession... all will advance your character

I wouldn't go that far. I ran into their serious ethical failings a long time ago, it is why I quit and will never go back.

Everything is okay until you run into a glitch in the game...

I, like many people on thise thread, left WoW because I was bored of it after 3 years of playing. I was hoping AOC would fill the 3 month void I have until I start my masters. Sadly I lasted 5 weeks in AOC and much of that time spent I was just forcing myself to keep at it in the hope things would quickly improve, and due to guild loyalty (my wow guild moved to AOC, and like most other guilds that moved, only about 3% of people still play AOC and its pretty clear theyre only at it becuase they are being stubborn and have nothing else to do :P).

I'm currently playing EVE online and mildly enjoying it. Im finding I cant really play it for extended periods though. There just doesnt seem to be the variety in EVE that keeps you hooked in for potentially entire days at a time like WOW. Despite that, I fully expect to keep playing it for a long time to come, even alongside WAR if WAR turns out to be good.

Will not be returning to WOW though. Nothing Ive read about WOTLK has excited me too much apart from the siege zone. We will see anyway. If anyone has any recommendations Id be delighted to hear them!
