A new Warhammer Fan

Hey,

This is my first post on the forums so just a quick introduction.

I've been lurking around the forum for a while now reading up and getting a feel for the community and it seems like your mostly a good bunch ;)  I just wanted to say that I've got my pre-order codes (CE edition) and cant wait for the rest of the box to come .... woop woop.

I've been looking forward to Warhammer for a while now and It's nice too see so many mature, laid back people about that are going to be playing.

I'm in the UK so all you Brit and Europeans I look forward to seeing you in the EU open beta ..... for all of you who are in the closed better ... 'I hate you all'. (joking you lucky sods).

This is my first fantasy MMORPG (I tried World of Warcraft for a few weeks but it did not float my boat).  Being an old EvE Online player this is a big change for me but from all I've read and watched about WAR I think I'll be spending quit a lot of 'quality' time with this game. (Don't tell my other half this I beg you).

So guys can't be that long off the open beta now ....

Regards

    Welcome to WAR, WAAGH!

Finwe on microphones in MMOs: "it'd eliminate l33t speak....But it would bring in ebonics."

Welcome aboard. ignore anyone who say's it's like wow. I RVR'ed at Gamesday. This game is in no way like wow. Please keep your comparisons limited to DAOC.

Welcome,  I suspect youll find it a lot different to EvE..  in someways positive and other things you may miss.

EvE, undoubtedly has the better economy and crafting.  Theyre opposite sides of the spectrum in this regard, so as long as you dont expect to be playing the trade game..  youll be fine ;)

I dont know what you thought of WoW, but generally MMO's which have a player avatar, its a lot easier to meet a bunch of people and go adventuring with them.  EvE has always seemed impersonal and its easy to not be involved with anything if you stay quiet.

RvR is something else though..  do not leave WAR until you have tried keep sieges / defense..  because in DAoC it was amazing.

It's the RvR thats definitely got me intrested about this game.  The trade in the game seems shallow  compared to a game like EvE but to be honest in my eyes thats a good thing .... I've traded for many years in EvE now I just want to bash people and have fun .... not have another full time job.
