WAR - Will it completely kill my PC? or Will it run just fine?

in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

I already know what the system requirements are so I dont need you linking them to me. What I want is an answer from someone who can make an educated guess as to what my PC will be capable of regarding the specs that are given.

2.8Ghz Intel Pentium 4

2GB RAM

Nvidia 8500GT 512MB

My sound card is above par and I have plenty of memory available but the only thing I am worried about is my CPU.

I don't really expect the game to completely lag me out as bad as, say, Mass Effect does, but I still worry that my CPU speed isn't going to be enough to play the game on decent settings. Also, I can't upgrade the CPU above a single core because my intel chipset on my MOBO doesn't support dual cores or quads so upgrading like that is out of the question.

SO! barring me actually buying a new PC do you guys think I'll be able to run WAR just fine or will I struggle?

    I think you'll be surprised at how well the game runs on that system. Don't worry about it.

    Well you meet all min specs that they have published. I have found from PC to PC you will need  dial it in once installed but I think based on the info you provided you should be fine. As always to be optimum you want to ensure you clean up your hard drive make sure it's defraged and drop any unnecessary background programs when in game. Once they publish a recommended spec that might give you an idea of what to expect for play.

    Thank god it's nothing like AOC to run.

    was wondering myself--my graphics card is too low its Nvid geforce 6150 LE---whick one should i pick up--thats all that was below the required specs

    It will prolly run fine on low settings.But the 8500gt is a pretty weak card,not to rag on your system but you might think about upgrading if you can.You can build a decent rig nowadays for cheap,something to think about.Prices are good rite now.If you have 500 to invest you would be happy =).

    I hear you about AoC.  I was in the beta and while many players liked the game, I felt it ran poorly -- and I am just not in the mood to buy the HAL 9000 yet.
