55 Ranger: POSSIBLE to come back?

AesperAesper Member UncommonPosts: 90

Hey Norrathians.

Old school EQ player here looking at possible return.

Short n sweet: Got a 55 Ranger with mostly PoP gear and her epic .. do I have a chance of soloing or leveling to level cap?

Any folks on the Morell Thule server here on the boards?

Hi there I just recently returned myself with the free trail they had for a month for the anniversary, and yes its very much entirely possible to lvl its alot faster now with hot zones I got my 44 druid when i retruend to 61 last night on a modest gaming schedule along with plenty of alts to try new things on (40 ranger 35 warrior 30 enchanter 35 paladin 30 wizard). You'll have no trouble finding a guild i'm sure and you'll like the new speed of things once you get used to it. Granted its not like Old Everquest hell lvls are gone it looks like to me. None the less the game makes it easier to get to those high levels so you can do what its all about end game raiding. Hope that helps if not shot me a message I would love to try and be of more help and also sorry im not on your server i'm on the rathe as to zek is basically dead.

No, there is no chance of soloing with a ranger to max level. I don't know what your max solo level would be, but I think you'd have to be close.

You shouldnt have much trouble getting groups after 50 or so......The hot zones have ridiculous XP so you can level or get AAs about as fast as your heart desires.

    Thanks for the advice.

What are these hot zones? Where can I find some info about them?

check on the Everquest discussion boards. In the newbie zone there is a hotzone list I think which might be changing soon to a new set of zones I believe. At the moment or when I played during the 60 day promotion it was Crypt of Nadox level 55-60 and then BoT after that going to 65. That was easy and fast experience, and I could find groups- certainly on my server (AB).

A hot zone is a place where you get bonus xp (maybe double?).  They do this to bring several players together in a certain zone.  Good idea imo.
