Yes, Perfect World is a really good one...the International-English version is around the corner and it's one of the very very very FEW F2P mmorpgs that you can easily play through without ever touching the ITEM SHOP.
Almost all F2P mmorpgs have an ITEM SHOP which sucks money outta its obsessed players (pure genius) eventually costs alot more than a P2P mmorpg.
Cabal is good too, but it's uber grind (like hundreds of hours of grind) and polluted with Buy-Gold-Advertisements.
Zu Online is pretty decent and fun. But almost all of the armor/gear looks the same every gawddam level. Mount/pet feature is pretty cool. Don't have to spend in ITEM SHOP to get far, leveling is easy.
Currently Playing: 3ds Max 2009 Played and Loved: World of Warcraft, EVE Online, Warhammer Online Best F2P MMO: Requiem Bloodymare Want to Play: Aion (See Teaser), DCuniverseOnline (awesome gameplay videos)
Atlantica Online www.playatlantica.com Its ending its CB. Give it a try, i played most of free mmos and this one is the best for me. Have fun
It is a good game, espcially in closed beta because there are no Item Shops yet. So we get to play the game as someone who would have unlimited money to blow on renting the autorun feature and whatever else they are going to try to sell on the item shops.
I understand these games have to make money somehow, but It would be nice to see some of these decent F2P games offer you a choice between item shops and a monthly sub where you would get most of the benefits of said item shop.

i want some of what you have been smoking. PW is 99% cash shop dependant, without hyerograms you'll go nowhere.
they even have world chat require a cash shop item, ffs
other than that, the game is as generic boring and grindy as any other asian bullshit
OP,to cut a long story short: there is nothing like a good F2P game, and never will. stop dreaming
My 4 current favorites in the F2P realsm are World of Kung Fu, Perfect World, Last Chaos, and Dreamlords.
Last Chaos is probably the most generic of these (and the one I've played least), inevitably drawing comparisons to Lineage II.
Next would probably be Perfect World, which is somewhat generic, though with a distinctly Asian flavor to it (have to say here that it suffers from the absolute worst translations I have ever come across, but it's still playable).
WoKF is the game that's taken the main slot in my current MMO gaming. It's pretty fully featured, decent graphics, decent sized community, and fairly original class concepts. Of course there's no avoiding a degree of similarity in the Asian market F2P games, this is the most unique one I've come across yet.
Dreamlords is, well, different. It's more of an MMORTS than RPG, but that alone makes it an interesting concept. The major complaint I have with it so far (aside from the somewhat lackluster graphics) is the fairly steep learning curve. There's a whole lot to manage in the game, and very little in the way of documentation specifying how to do so.
While I'm somewhat new to the free MMO scene, I've been playing MMORPG's nearly since their inception (started with DAoC). While a free game will never be as fully featured and well developed as a P2P one, that's not to say that the whole genre should just be written off. There are a lot of gems hidden in the rough there if one spends the time searching them out.
Actually I think he summed it up very nicely, you on the other hand just made up some B.S and then threw in your personal opinion.
I have played LOTS of pay and free mmo's and this is my second choice (My first if FFXI). This game has an insane ammount of charector customization, which I don't really care for, but some people like it.
Have you even played the game? I admit Im still new to it, (only a level 17) but I haven't run out of cash yet, and my best armor I got off doing quests, or drops.
As far as grinding goes maybe you should go play a noob game like WoW if you don't like it. FFXI is the same way and its done that way for a reason, to weed out all the impatient pre teens and to really teach you how to play your class, opposed to being a high level player that has no clue what hes doing.
I vote Archlord. I've played mostly that and Last Chaos. Archlord took the place of LC because it has better graphics.... I can run it full screen and I can't with LC.
Archlord does take too long to lvl up, like every one of these games. The biggest problem with Archlord is sometimes if it lags you can get attacked and killed when u can't attack back. That's really annoying. There's supposed to be episode 3 coming out sometime in August and I hope they fix.
No such thing as "Best F2P MMO" or even "Best MMO" at all. It's all different opinions. All we can really help you with is what your more interested in a MMO and give you some titles. With free games, I'm also very picky. If I can play a game for more than 15 minutes than there maybe a chance. I'd recommend Fiesta Online if you dont mind that cutesy anime graphics or Requiem for now until better things come along like perhaps Perfect World.

Perfect World, Cabal and Silkroad online are the best F2p MMO's out right now.
Check them out imo they are the closest F2p game to actually feel like a P2p mmo.
PLaying: EvE, Ryzom

That is all
Requiem Bloodymare was the first f2p I actually spent more than 30 minutes playing and I like it so far. Rohan isn't that bad either.

Soz, I haven't seen any MMORPGs that are good and f2p.
I mean sure, some are good, but the only way they're any good is if you buy something.
Which, if it's f2p, then why make it so all the good stuff isn't obtainable without buying it?
Soz, I rant and babble. XD
Don't worry, I hate runescape too. I wouldn't even suggest that major suckage to a n00b.
