yeah it sucks, but meh.
I think they might be doing another beta wave of people then open beta, but we are in days of NDA dropping and prob days after that for open beta, Then head start, once the we start moving the rollercoaster will move fast and it will be fun!
what im worried about is getting a measly 1-2 day headstart and 7 day beta which would start after the beginning of my first semester >.<
im guessing 2 weeks open beta, 1 week headstart.
good news? theres no plan for a delay. this week. of the news. we just know its not NDA lift.
1 week head start would do just fine for me, so would a 2 week beta..........
so if thats the case were talking the beginning of sept (if the date was actually the real release date)
before anything starts.

a week headstart is waaaaaay too much. I'm guessing 3-4 days headstart. I'm guessing that they will drop the NDA 6-8 weeks before launch...so we will see/

It would be okay for me, if the beta started Labor Day weekend. I'd totally take an extended weekend from work.
I doubt it. The reason the NDA isn't being lifted this week is because of a delay in a big patch being rolled out to beta testers -- which is understandable. You almost certainly won't see the closed beta expand between the dropping of the NDA and the "opening" of the beta.
I would've been disappointed at the news too, but when I read why, I forgave Mark.
The biggest danger right now is the rampant speculation going around -- posters on the Vault boards were trying to cook up the idea that when Mark said there was no delay, it was because there's technically no delay if there's no official release date. So Mark had to appear again to specifically knock that down.
The bright side: the speculation means people care.

All I can do is keep my fingers crossed for the open beta, check my email, and wait to use my beta key! Hope it is soon!

Ahh but you need to remember that Mythic has not officially announced a launch date yet, but rather the retail partners have. So nothing is written in stone. However, I bet you that NDA drops next week. Its really hard to tell because we dont have access to closed beta, but if you search the interweb long enough you can find the answers from the people in the know.
Well according to all stores I have seen and Gamespot the release date is listed as September 16. From what I recall it takes about 2 weeks or so of factory production when its ready, meaning it would have to be ready to go into production by about September 1st. I doubt beta testing would run during the two week production period. So back up to about middle of August minimum I would assume open beta would have to start. Giving us about two weeks of OB. Of course they could easily start it earlier.
All this providing the Sept. 16 date is the real release date.

Well I certainly can't wait for the NDA to be lifted but do hope that the OB goes perfect so that it will release earlier. BTW those that say that DAoC had a smooth lauch and say that WAR will have it too...well I have to agree with you on that because all Mythic is doing is "polishing it" We love you Mythic and we want WAR!

I dont see how any of this can be bad ??? Either way WAR is coming out very soon and a few more days before NDA/open beta doesnt bother me at all .
