i can see how it would become an MMO (groups going out to hunt big bad monsters) but i doubt it will have enough pulling power to be turned into an MMO
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds -Solid non level based game -Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
Frontier is a really bad example, considering its JAPANESE ONLY. You have to use a proxy to log on, cant speak in english, and its P2P :P. The best way to play Monster Hunter as an MMO is Monster Hunter Freedom/Freedom 2/ Portable 2nd G with Kai.

It's also in closed beta in Korea. The NA/EU release dates ( if any ) are unannounced. Quite frankly, if Capcom doesn't see a market here for it and keeps it over there, noone else is going to market it here, either.
Also, the OP stated "They need to make an MMO out of this.". And, as I've shown, they did.
Capcom and the Monster Hunter series in america just dont go together. Capcom will NEVER bring Frontier/ another MH for console over to the US. The american community just doesnt like it enough.
I remember reading somewhere that capcom doesn't have servers in the US and they are going to build it up for just one franchise. From the way the article (no I can't quote it, don't remember where i found it). sounded it's not impossible, just not likely for a while.

I agree with that, the series was never popular here ( hell, Capcom canceled MH3).

You can play MH Frontier if you live in the US, you just have to be tricky about it.
No I will not tell you how to do it, find out on your own.
Zorvan - Monster Hunter 3 was never cancelled. It's currently in Development for the Nintendo Wii.
It was cancelled from it's previous plan for all consoles, and then later picked up for the Wii alone. Again, it's not a popular franchise over here.
