Yes, standard major MMO price, around 14.99 or so. I can't believe people honestly still ask this question.

and you Get what you Pay for and in GW"s case a game of nothing but instancing and hubs not a world you can affect change or be a part of.   Not that GW's a bad game but you won't see a triple aaa title on the level of EQ2, WoW, or WAR or even AoC ever bee Free unless the game is a complete crap fest (can see AoC being F2P by the end of next year).

    ok Ill bite :)

At the risk of being shot down in flames...

RF Online is F2P, not the best game in the world but mabye it builds a case for the future, its very common for games from the east to go with f2p and a money shop.

I still dip into rfo lol, I cant help myself, but one of the resons I dont go hard into it anymore is the £100 I spent in one month.

No to be like ...evil or whatever but RF Online doesn't have the depth as most P2P games but it seems to have somewhat more than some F2P games.   I'm sorry there are no F2P games in my opinion that are anything like any P2P game..thats not a bad thing ... its just there's a reason their's a huge difference between P2P games and F2P games...of course I'm not sure we can call F2P games free since they require you to spend RL money anyway if you want to go beyond the norm.

If I remember correctly isn't RF Online's content limited to grinding and pvp battling.....I could be wrong I hear so little about that game I'm not really familiar with it.

guild wars is a room-based (the room is just made up of polygons) rpg, not an mmorpg! thats like saying diablo is an mmorpg. it would fail with a sub fee.

Short Answer: Yes, most likely $15 per month.

Now, just let the thread die.

    STOP WHINING!

thats pretty much all there is, a big pvp war every 8 hours and grind for the rest.

theres some "fun" with the upgrade system, tho I was close to tears when my best gun blew up in a failed upgrade.

Anarchy Online is a free to download and free to play mmo.  There is a catch, of course.  To play the expansion content you must buy the expansion which then converts your account to p2p.  The core game is paid by in-game advertising though, and has no monthly fee, and does, in fact, fit your definition of "depth".

    For the original poster:

    • Monthly Subscription: $14.99 USD
    • 3-Month Subscription: $41.97 ($13.99 per month)
    • 6-Month Subscription: $77.94 ($12.99 per month)

The first 'M' in MMORPG means 'massively'.

Guild Wars (nice game btw) is arguably just an MORPG as it has no persistent world to warrant the first 'M'.  Its a bit like calling diablo 2 an MMORPG.

As to why Diablo 2 is not here and GW is?  Well, you tell me where the difference lies..

Its only F2P nwo because AO sucked major wind and the development team was clueless.  When it realized there was a mass exodus going on they went F2P.  Its one of the few exceptions to the rules as far as F2P games go.  I expect AoC to join it next year.
