I'd like to know about archery, in a previous journal the devs stated that it will be powerful, do you know how this will work in close combat? - Will it still be powerful or do they have systems inplace to stop people using bows in close combat?

Why would you wanna stop using a bow in close combat? If you are that good with the bow...use it. I wont, i need my shield to protect me in close combat. Remember that it is you as the player determen how good a tactic or skill is. Not the game.
It will work in close combat, but with the manual aim you will have a hard time try to hit the opponent =D. It will be diffrence arrows/bows (magical) wich will allow you to shoot more straight. With the manual aim you must take movement and distance in consideration.
And with a powerful strike/crit you can shoot them down from the mounts.
And this are old news; You can't fire from mount. Don't know if it's change. I hope it will be available.

Wrong the game determins exactly how good a skill is. How you use it is something totally different. How you play your charachter is also something different yet again. It is important to understand that player skil and game defined skills are not one in the same.

And about the skills and the use of a bow in close quarter combat. Whay may work for you might not work for me. And you cant blaim the game for that. Lets take a example: In many FPS the gun is relly lame, you are supposed to use a SMG. But many still uses the gun because its more fun and challencing..and it works for them. If i would to use a small handgun, it would only result in me sending a report to the developer saying the handgun is not working properly.
And you quicly see my point. If you are that good with a bow in DF, use it. I would only be dreaming of using a bow. I really suck at FPS. So its not in consideration for me to use one from the beginning.

It determines how good a skill is, but it should not determine how a players uses that skill and how effective they are with it. If they are good with a close bow in a situation, then they should use it.

Hi quick question to the people who have played darkfall. I have recently started playing a MOD for halflife 2 called Age of Chivalry, Is the Combat in Darkfall similer to combat in Age of chivalry?
