Tip: How to Cancel

in Final Fantasy XI

So...today I was billed over ~$20 USD because for some reason, my account wasn't cancelled (which I thought I did).

 

And maybe it's me, but this game is so fucked up.

I literally had to google 'how to cancel ffxi content id' because their website offers no real specific help.

I uninstalled the game a while ago and yeah...

So to save some of you people the trouble out there, you need to have the PLAY ONLINE VIEWER installed to cancel anything.

The FFXI website doesn't allow you to manage your account there.

Took for-damn-ever to find this out.

    My friend couldnt figure out how to cancel his one time so he just hopped in game and did a bunch of crazy also funny shit to get himself banned.

    I should start doing that.  Why go through the inconvenience of filtering through a company's hard-to-navigate cancellation process when you can have fun getting banned and they'll do it for you?

    On a side note, NCSoft has a pretty easy site for activating and/or cancelling accounts.  They have (by far) the most user friendly set up I've seen.

    The point is that the people in question were just retarded and couldn't figure out HOW to cancel, couldn't figure out how to read a FAQ, didn't see the phone # plastered all over the service/support pages on the POL site, and decided to complain to their representative, who then, because of a game that wouldn't even violate any of these laws, wasted the state govenment's time and money with the creation and whatnot of a bill and stuff to pass into law, when the thing that prompted it was user stupidity, not any fallacy on the part of the company. It's rather funny.

     

    Solution: Move to Illinois

    So, you were somehow able to activate the account, and couldn't figure out how to cancel it when it was the same screen? Good one.

    Oh yea I remember that time about 4 years ago when having frustration trying to cancelled my subscription with Square on FFOnline was one pain in the butt.

    Thanks for reminding me, at the end of the day my credit card bank cancelled it for me. Thankfully and never again.
