Mabinogi is a skill-based fantasy MMORPG that does not make use of classes. The anime-influenced look of the game works well with the cell-shaded graphics.
I'm not sure if Mabinogi is in Open Beta anymore, but it was in Open Beta.
Mabinogi is a game that shows you life skills, such as campfires, cooking, romance, protecting farm animals, etc. It is a great game to play, though it shows fighting. Right now, Mabinogi is in Generation 2! Paladins are taking over Erinn, killing all newbs in their path. To be a Paladin however, you must be chosing by the Goddess. It is very hard to get chosing though.
When you start Mabinogi, you will create a character. You will need to select the card you see when you log in. Then select what, skin tone, eyes, hair, and hair color you want. (Do not select the skin tone, eyes, hair, and hair color with the * on the upper right side of them) Once you start, you will be in a completely white room. Wait a minute. You will then see a girl with a black dress pop up, double click on her. She will give you bread and a letter. Then you will be transported to the world of Erinn.
The game itself is great! I'll give it a 10/10.

lol be ready to shell out some serious dough if you want to play this "so-called" F2P game. you will never advance in this game if you dont spend. honestly, if i want to spend $10-$25 a month, ill just play WoW.
lots of botters and spammers in mabinogi too. and did i mention the poor customer support from nexon.
this game is free to play but not free to enjoy.
Just wanted to mention that Mabinogi 2 is in development.

Open or closed, who cares, as theres a major flaw with it, and thats it never unistalls from your comp god damnit... You unistall it and the next day or after you turn your comp off it re appears grrrrr
So many things wrong with this post.
1: You don't need to buy ANYTHING at ALL if you want to get the most out of this game.
2: They give you TWO WEEK LONG FREE TRIALS TO SEE IF YOU ENJOY THE SERVICES.
3: Did you even play the game? You can advance no problem if you don't spend. With your free trials you can easily skip the first generation (Which is a living hell to finish.) And do the second one instead, AND FINISH IT.
By that time, you already have the reward for the rest of your free trial, AND you can just get along PERFECTLY FINE without buying ANYTHING.
4: If you have a problem with your skills, JUST REBIRTH FOR 8$, that'll last you about 2-5 MONTHS!
5: If a NEW GENERATION COMES OUT, then buy ONE monthlong service, and wait about another TWO MONTHS FOR THE NEXT ONE.
Really, its not as expensive as you'd think, its just that you havent even tried figuring out the services. The service is NOT 25$ a month, and you do NOT need XXX dollars a month to advance in the game. If you want the services, but STILL don't want to spend much, then FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GET BOTH.
Its not that hard, you just have to think about it. >_>
Now, for the botters, accept it, botters have been in just about any MMO, and the fact that there ARE botters in the first place can ALSO be used to say that its actually a pretty decent game.
I really can't deny that they're there, as I don't feel the need to lie.
As for the spammers? Just go to that nice little options menu ans blacklist them.
