Funcom moderators posing as fanboys on forums?

Just got an email from a friend who has been cut and pasting deleted forum threads where certain of the most well-known and vocal fanboy posters are being actively "defended" by moderators against criticism, who delete posts by players who criticise the fanboys, before giving infractions to those players.
However, sometimes it's so fast, it seems impossible the moderators are watching those threads - unless of course they are the fanboys posting in them, seeing a reply they dislike and deleting it before others can see it.
Is this sort of guerilla moderation and bias normal in gaming forums, or specific to this dead game on meltdown? Funcom really needs to start some internal investigations on this stuff, same as their GM cybersex, random blanket bans and suspect billing practices.

like for real dude, I would be worrying about them slaping a slander suit against you. why so serious? you post constantly about AoC, there are other games out there, try to have some fun. ;p

that doesnt surprise me at all, i tried helping someone out on the forums the other day with a problem similar to what i had with the gaming causing coloured streaks to appear on the screen, which i had to return my gfx card and get a replacement, but they deemed my advice to rude or out of order somehow that they deleted my post LOL. all i said was that the game had crashed my computer and when it rebooted i had coloured streaks on screen and was unable to use windows, the fact that their poorly engieered software was causing such alot of hardware issues should be an immediate priority.
they know what they are doing, over 700,000 accounts from launch, they are trying to cash in as much as possible, drip-drabs of fixes here and there to try and make an impression but it aint washing with most people. they wont have a game in 6months if it continues. they wont mind of course cause they have about $15m already saved.... do i here pac-man the return is being made by funcom next

The game is not half as bad as people like yourself try to get over on everyone.As a matter of fact it is not much worse than any new mmo at launch.People like you are just as much a problem with the genre as much as games launching before they are ready.
This rabid overzealousness for wanting the game to fail is just stupid.You want the game to fail?Who benefits from this?The players?The genre ?The game devs?
Nobody benefits from this.Im willing to bet your 1 of these silly players who emails FC and threatens to quit.Ive got news for you:Someone else just subscribed to the game.

Can you not admit that FC are an in Seriously Rocky situation with the way they are treating their customer, be serious for a minute everyone know there customer support is like going into your local video game shop for tech support lol, it isnt up to standard. in game support is so much of a joke i havent use it since it took me 6 hours to get to 1 in the queue then the game crashed LOL.
dont get me wrong i am a fan of AOC but my problem lies with FC not the game. they are an inept company wiho ill-prepared to develope a mmo on the long term. I really think they should re-invest the millions they have made to hire extra staff to cope.

The best way to notice a plant on the AoC boards is they never have a guild or server listed under their avatar and alot of them have numbers in their names.

Funcom should be sured for fraud. The only thing they got right was the scam (imean maketing scheme) right.
I've never bought a game before where the description and what you install is so different. On top of that all we get is promises of it will get better or we hope to have DX10 working in November or my favorite we will have the massive PVP patch in by the end of June, that was a classic.
No wonder they controlled the beta ( i use the term lightly) so well becuase most of us would not have bought it had we been able to see what the game was like past level 20.
Doesnt surprise me too, also there are over 700,000 accounts CREATED, I highly dount all those are from box sales, most likely are beta accounts, vip accounts, close beta accounts, employee accounts..etc.
Oh and I rather play pac-man if it is not made from Failcom, at least pac-man wont have that many bugs, and it wont ban people for no reason.

I have NEVER wanted a company to fail, crash, and burn so badly as much as I want funcom to do.
My familie's rich, my dad bought each of us a 2k computer to play AoC and of course the game. In honesty, it's not the 50 dollars or whatever we lost that bothers me, but instead the constant lieing and PR tactics funcom tries to pulls. It's just unbelievable... like watching Bush lie through his teeth about WOMD.
I begged my dad to sue Failcom but he told me to just drop it. So now i'm resorting to camping tortage and griefing noobs as much as possible. Yea i got no life and I don't care. I'm proud that I'm a loser whose never worked a day of his life.
Other than the greenish color behind their posts, the mods on the official boards sound like any other angry player over there. they don't act professionaly at all, especially Lufkin. Lufkin laughs about hoping WAR releases with "as many issues" as AoC. They are jerks plain and simple and as usual FC are completely oblivious or just don't care about NA and do nothing.
I would not be surprised if indeed they are planting posts, not like they have any ethics whatsoever. Who knows. Really, who cares anyway, WAR is almost here.
Might as well let it go Art, AoC is a lame duck now anyway. Old news, washed up, a "never was" been. Despite a few delusional people, the game is good as dead, and I say good. I hope FC will follow suit.

This is the first time ive seen this interview and im gobsmacked. Jon does a great job, he really is great at interviewing and asking the hard questions.
All i can say is wow, damn what the hell. Funcom have this guy at the helm, it explains everything. Really has opened my eyes!
The CEO of Funcom really does think were all completely clueless, i can pick apart his responces so much its unbelievable.
Wish i had seen this before i ran blindly into this game, blind faith for the lose.

I honestly doubt any moderators would double post as fanboys. There may be a third party marketing firm, or it may simply be friends of the devs. The moderators are people who are either volunteers to the company or are employees who also have other job duties within the company. No company is going to devote resources to someone solely to read and post to a bulletin board.

The mods are volunteers. FC didn't hire professionals.They are just superfans who got to have mod powers, and have shown over and over that they are not fit for the job. Their past actions on the official forum make the idea of them doing this not unreasonable at all.
