Howdy, Stranger!

It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

IF you felt betrayed by funcom (ripped off)

Either by their false marketing or horrid practices,

then there is one simple thing that will take 10 minutes that you can do.

What will that gain you though? So you had a bad experience like all the rest of us with AOC, move on. It is not the first time this has happened and won't be. People need not hype stuff so high that they get pulled into this false assumption that the games going to be this magical thing that will make you buy the game.

I don't get why fighting with it will help. Move on and hopefully next time you don't fall into the over hype. I played beta and stopped before launch and I never bought the game, I guess I learned well before most.

Who let you in the VIP section?

First person who can explain why filing a complaint with BBB won't accomplish anything gets a cookie.

because the BBB doesnt hold any bearing in Florida where I live?

because the BBB doesnt hold sway over international bodies?

    because FunCom doesnt care?

You forgot that BBB is a private, non-governmental agency which only handles disputes between consumers and 'accredited' (i.e., member affiliate) businesses, of which Funcom is not one. But you are correct on those points!

If I were to do that, it would only be with the expectation of adding a small amount of negative data to the BBB. The reason for that is they have ratings for businesses and probably comments/statements of some sort? So it would just be one negative in a sea of opinion, not doing anything except adding to the bad side for FC.

    10 Minutes?...Meh.

Arent they only  USA and Canadian business centred? I dont think a gaming company in Europe could care about the BBB

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

You don't understand you can file a complaint with the AG and they will investigate it. Texas for example.

Well the BBB has bearing in any US state IF the company in question is actually a member.

Like when I played FFXI and quit.. I got billed for another month after I had quit.  They made some reply about how they bill a month ahead.. to which I said that's nice but I hit cancel before the end of my current month why would I pay for a month that hasn't happened yet.. when I said I wanted the account closed.

BBB said that SE wasn't a member they had no ability to do anything.. so I reversed the charges...

So ya BBB isn't really going to do much... in this case.

Funcom wouldn't be safe under the "international" idea IF the BBB had power.. as funcom has offices in the Carolinas.. I believe in North Carolina..

And... Norway has quite a bit or reciprocating jurisdiction agreements with the US... not sure how that works or if I even spelled it correctly.

I pressed cancel.. that was enough for me regardless.

I find it more theraputic to tell everyone how much Failcom sucks so they don't get screwed over with false advertising like the rest of us.

Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

  • hobo9766hobo9766 Member UncommonPosts: 457

Well if Funcom has an office in North Carolina we should be speaking with this guy or sending him some emails.

  • AxumAxum Member Posts: 891

well for the heck of it i put in a  complaint through an attorney general in my state :)

only thing i request for settlement is all packages recalled, and the non-existant features removed :O

like thats gonna ever happen -_-

    oh well worth a shot.
