Latest invitations into Beta

KanisKanis Member UncommonPosts: 42

Hiya all, well I didn't get into the latest group to be invited into the beta (and I don't mean the contest winners)... I just wish that there was some sort of mass email to come out to say that I wasn't chosen at this time; since there is no 100% way to know "if" the request to be part of it was recieved.

I wish the few that got in the best, and I'm looking forward to its release more and more... The only thing that worries me is the Pvp aspect, but then again it has been the only issue I've had with the game so far.

Once the game goes live I look forward to be part of a good group.

Actually at this moment the new wave of emails have not been sent out
yet. Today only the winners of the Stress Test Beta (you know those guys
with no life who could reach lvl 40+ in a week) recieved their emails.
Blizzard only stated that the new group of emails (the ones from the
normal Beta sign-up last March) will be sent out very soon and a new
server has been added to hold the load. So if we're lucky sometime this
week they will send them out so don't lose hope. The best way to check
if they have been sent out yet would be either 1) a message from
Blizzard on the website, or 2) about 500 "OMFG I got in teh Beta
Threads" on the Bnet forums. Good luck!

Lol I was under the impression that they had sent it out already, guess there is still a chance.

I was off the week of the stress test, and I can honestly say that there is no way I would have tried for the contest. I loved trying the classes, Priest, Shaman, Hunter, Druid were the ones I all had above 12th and a few to 16th... I tried the mage, and warrior but they didn't feel right for me at the time. I didn't care to try the warlock and paladin (but didn't have time to try the thief). As for the races I have tried the Troll, Tauren, Elf and Dwarf; I'll try the gnomes & Orcs, but I'm not interested in the humans and the undead are at the bottom of my list.

Man didn't mean to ramble on...

They have not been sent out as of yet, but should be going out anytime.  It has been known to take a week for some to get their invite.  I'm hoping to get in, as I had alot of fun on the ST when it was going.

As one poster already mentioned, you shall see alot of people posting they got in to the beta on their forums, once emails are starting to go out.

    Cheers

Same here Kanis. But I have to confess I'm a little bit split on whether I want to play Beta or not. Part of me can barely wait to go back to Azeroth. But part of me wants to wait till release when I can build a permenant character.

It's hard to want to play but not spoil things for yourself on release. Don't want that new game smell to go away too fast. :)

I know what you mean .. and what I am going to do is play close second favorites instead of playing what I think will be my favorite char. This gives me a chance to try out the other races and classes and prevents me from having to start the same char from scratch 3 times in a row.

Regardless if they have been sent or not, I wont be getting in. Blizzard can go get raped by a bull for not allowing us to modify our beta applications. I just happen to no longer have access to the email address I signed up with for the beta. Sigh.

Yes I know what you mean as well about being 'spoiled' since everything we do in beta will be erased eventualy (which I understand). But not having it to play after being in the game makes me feel like I'm going through withdrawls... *kidding*

But I have to say I'm not playing anything at the moment, and I wish WOW was ready for release (but I wouldn't want it released before its 100%ready).

    Ok rambling again...

Yes the emails for the new phase have been sent out.  The winners of the contest were added earlier this week.  It says they will be sent throughout the day!  www.worldofwarcraft.com

BAH, I'll get mine....the day before it closes and ships. And then there will be a 4 hour patch and they will bring the servers down for an emergency patch just before a meteor hits my house and kills my dog. After consoling my wife I will get into the game only to see the message "servers will be shutting down in 1 minute. Thanks for beta testing World of Warcraft."

Which will it be...EQ2 or WoW?

Keep your fingers crossed. They screwed up the invites for the wave that went out last night, sending a lot of second invitations to people who were already chosen to be in the beta. So they are sending out ANOTHER wave "shortly".

There was a slight mix-up with the latest batch of closed-beta invitations that went out, resulting in a number of individuals who were already in the closed beta test receiving new invitations. To make up for this, we will be sending out another round of invitations and including a broader selection of testers into this phase of the closed beta test than originally planned. We remind those who received an additional authentication that you are still bound by the World of Warcraft terms of use and beta agreement (linked to below for your reference). Thanks for your understanding, and best of luck!

    Heyas all:

This is what i sent blizzard .To whom it may concern:

Presently I have been waiting for a Beta account (as most others have), and I guess I did not get excepted this time. I stumbled across both ebay and this link where exploiters have managed to obtain many many accounts.( http://www.eschient.com/images/sol/ ) I have 3 computers and look forward to purchasing three of your games, and maintaining 3 accounts with you, but with all the special invites and scams going on. I do not forsee this happening. I am quite upset to have waited so long for a chance at the Beta program, only to be beaten out by special intrest groups (nvidia) and cheaters. I will continue to wait for that small small chance at an invite, and if not recieved I will pursue other online games.

Also, please please tell the people when the betas are sent and when your done sending. Alot of people are waiting on you for some kind of response. It takes only a simple line to let us know, as it seems now you are playing a game with us.

I've sent something like that to about six different Blizzard e-mails.

I hope being honest lands me an account. :) *grin* image

You know, that sounds like nothing more than a thinly veiled "wah wah!  I didn't get into beta!" cry.  It's a frikken Beta test!  Sure, we'd all like a chance to test it, but we all can't.  So, be a patient fan or don't.  But don't go crying to Blizzard about it.

They've got much more important things to do than read whining emails from people who can't wait.

Let me quote you something right from Blizzards main page:

"Please do not contact Blizzard with questions on your selection status. Those of you who don’t receive an invitation take heart; open beta will be coming up later this year."
