Many servers are totally empty at this point. Everyone knows that Funcom have changed the server loads so they show medium load even with 1 person online. Next step is simple. Server merges or more ppl will quit.

If this is true it is an unfortunate tactic many MMO compnies are using these days. Devs for Pirates of the Burning Sea was particularly fond of this tactic.
Its a bad tactic because people aren't stupid. They can see what is happening in the servers; they dont need to see the numbers.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
It will be interesting to see what reason they eventually give when they do merge the servers. Usually when games are in enough trouble to merge the servers, they spin it as best they can.
I wouldn't doubt a few servers are sparsly populated by now but a lot of those people are complaining about how hard it is to get a group....and really just like all other mmo's once people starting doing high level stuff or get up to the higher level things, they rarely go back just to help others. I would assume part of the problem is that as well but it will be interesting to see.
Throwing the bullshit flag on this one. What PotBS devs did was have the server show the highest population it had been for the day rather than the current population. It was underhanded but it wasn't totally fabricated. I know they didn't do what you said becuase most of them never showed "medium."
With all the people that have quit I can't belive you can still get a group. Omm has been a ghost town for over a month now and its said medium load for 6 weeks even though your lucky to see 1 or 2 people in the zone your in.
Due to a major technology breakthrough, our servers can now handle a much higher player cap. Because of this, we are planning to merge servers to create a more rewarding experience for our players.

I was thinking something alon the lines of:
Because of a freak act of god, severs X and Y have caught fire. Luckily we were able to merge the data in time on servers A and B as an added service to our customers.

FunCom !!!! I think you should hire this man.
The problem is they launched far too many servers after the first 3 days.
30 + servers in Europe alone while Lotro has a mere 11 servers (and only 25% less played now than Conan on Xfire).
So merging servers on a 2.5 to 1 ratio is a must or the players will run into trouble.
Make that 4 to 1 when both WAR and WotLK will hit retail in september/november.

That's good! I'd mix in a little:
"Are your friends on a different server?
Due to high demand from you, our player base, we have decided to merge the PvE servers into one, as well there will henceforth be two PvP servers to do brutal battle on. You asked for it, you got it! New guilds to conquer, new players to fight using our highly popular Fugitive system!
There have been 700K accounts created!....that's right, 700K! (Created)."
It's all marketing. It's like the Titanic when they were trying to calm people down and saying everything was alright. If they merge servers, it will be proof this game is headed to the toilet.

Nah, it will be to save the game (just one measure), but it isn't proof of any demise. The game will live on, it will. Even MxO has a dedicated small base. AoC's will be in the 200-250K range once the dust settles my guess.
A server merge is the elephant in the room, everyone knows what it means, but the company will dance around it like Baryshnikov.
Just for sake of discussion, lets assume Funcom does announce server mergers.
How do they handle the set number of battle keeps each server has and who owns them?
That, and the naming issue, a few other overlapping issues.

Classic. Maybe you should do an 1vs1 showdown with EE.

Never argue with idiots. They are immune to logic.

Wait what? 250k when it settles? No, my friend, I would be surprised if they could keep even 5k people in this horrible game.
Server loads is a non-issue really, since most of the game is instanced anyway.
Let it stand for the record, even to this day DAOC report their actual server figures, no matter how bad they are.
And yes even though they are low rvr is still viable there!
Im not sure ive seen such honesty with any online game that ive played with regards to population. Go to the herald website its all there, even if the server has 20 people on it, that is what it says.
