I don't really know much about the RvR system yet. I'm looking forward to this game, but a friend of mine told me that it's basically all PvP all the time. Is this true? While that's not necessarily a bad thing, sometimes I just like to solo quest and not be bothered by other players ganking me when I'm out doing solo quests. Anyone know if all the servers are PvP all the time?

No, there are Core servers. Your friend doesn't know what he is talking about.
STOP WHINING!
RvR is getting all the attention becuase it's the new stuff. According to ... like, everything ... there will be plenty of standard PvE go fetch go kill style quests as well, and if you roll on a "Core" server there won't be PvP in those parts unless you flag yourself for it.
So on the "Core" servers (not sure exactly what a core server is) you will still have all the RvR playability right? I mean, you don't have to get on a RvR server to get all the PvP battles do you? Sorry if I'm not making much sense, I'm just trying to figure this out.
Core = PvP enabled only in RvR zones and if your flag yourself outside of them.
Open = PvP everywhere.
They have the exact same content.
There is still pve in the game. On the "core" servers you'll have a safe zone where you can pve to your hearts content but as soon as you cross that line in the sand, BAM! you're fresh meant!
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
