Motherboard: Gigabyte EG31M-S2
CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0 ghz
RAM: 2gig DDR2 800
Vid Card: GeForce 8500GT 512mb PCI-E
OS: Vista 32bit
Problem: I cannot get this video card to work for the life of me. It shows up as code 43 in device manager. Basically says my card is not working correctly. At first I thought it was just a driver error, but after installing not only the most up to date driver but also some older ones, still no luck.
Anyone shed some light on my problem? Suggestions? I am about to scrap this video card and get an ATI 4850, but its really not needed. Quick! Someone save me some money!

Bout all I can think of less you wanna post your DX_DIAG
The board you listed has onboard graphics (Intel GMA 3100), which you need to disable to use the video card. You do this through the bios.
A couple of problems, I can't seem to find where to uninstall my motherboard drivers. Also, the text in my BIOS is pretty messed up, lots of words are badly mispelled, makes it hard to verify what everything does.
Any advice?

Figured it out!
Installed my 8500gt in a buddy of mines computer, still no dice. Brought it to Best Buy just to confirm what I thought was the problem (faulty card from the manufacturer), and I was right. The card was DOA, so Nvidia lost another customer and I went and purchased the 4850.
I am very glad I did, this thing is amazing. After the quick fix to the fan, it is running cool as can be, I recommend this card to anyone. By far the best bang for the buck.
