And I've registered on July 2007.. That's really starting to get annoying. Two friends of mine who play Tibia and have no idea what a Chaos Chosen is got invited.
And after Vanguard I decided NOT to buy ANY game before testing it for at least 1 week. If that doesn't happen here, I don't care about how good people say the game is, I won't buy it.
Hope they send more invites tomorrow or something..

I signed up over a year ago, pre-orderd the CE on the day it became available at my local Gamestop and even upgraded my PC and updated my file on the beta center about 4 months ago when I updated my PC.
Still no CE beta invite for me.
While I'm not bitter or anything I can say that the soreness from the "punch in the croth" is greatly felt.
And I've registered on July 2007.. That's really starting to get annoying. Two friends of mine who play Tibia and have no idea what a Chaos Chosen is got invited. And after Vanguard I decided NOT to buy ANY game before testing it for at least 1 week. If that doesn't happen here, I don't care about how good people say the game is, I won't buy it. Hope they send more invites tomorrow or something..
If you didnt pre-order the collectors edition your not getting invited in these waves. Its for collectors edition people. If you didnt pre-order the standard edition you may not get into the open beta later. So just because you applied for closed beta means jack squat at this point in the process unless your tied to a pre-order.
Np, there seems to be a bit of confusion on what exactly is going on right now. If you havent pre-ordered the CE I am guessing your not getting into closed beta now. Possibly open beta but that depends on if they allow anyone in thats not apart of the Pre-order program, or possible a member of fileplanet.

I have a concern though. For being selective of CB testers according to the hardware requirements. I think they really want high requirements for CB testing. I have a core2-duo 6850, 8800 GTS x 2, 6 Gb RAM and was not selected till today (and that's because I had CE keys).
This is totally wrong. What's the purpose of testing? To test stuff, which includes minimum spec requirements too, right? If you have only the minimum level requirements you should be invited to Closed Beta, otherwise how will the developers know if the game sucks with minimum or low-end computers?
People will whine and bitch about the memory leaks, graphics, lag and all kind of hardware related problems after release. I can feel it.
It is very dumbish to invite only the people with "bestest" computers, kills the testing phase totally.
Anyone that was on AoC closed beta that can tell us if they invited people according to their hardware too? Because AoC had serious trouble after release, it still has tons of hardware/optimization related problems. In AoC they didn't test shit anyways, so the game sucks big time.

I would have disagree with you. My dxdiag used for beta is a beast of a comp and I'm still not in. I also have the CE code along with vet newsletter. While my computer isn't exactly crap, it isn't that great either... It's more on the lower end of the computer food chain than most it seems. Nevertheless, I made it in.
It's not really a matter of your computer (You really only need to meet the minimum requirements), it's just a matter of luck. From what I remember, the invites are random. Figured that would be obvious.

So now it's just about them green lighting the CE accounts to login and go, which I believe in a note last night they said mid week.

Hell even if not I dont care. As much as I would like to test the launch is just over a month away regardless. NDA will be droping soon enough so if I dont get in I can always spend another couple weeks reading reviews and info on the game.

Hmm..I applied for beta back in june 2007. My account says registered associations Collector's edition pre order. I last updated my dx-diag on 7/25/2008 (I just upgraded to an nvidia 280 video card). I wonder if the fact I re-uploaded my dx-diag when I upgraded disqualified me (it was over a year since my last dxdiag).
I dont think so. Mark Jacobs even made mention of thinking people still had time to update the in his early sunday morning update.
