Powerpoints

Ok maybe I am missing something here but I am actually glad Funcom have not delivered on this promised feature. (Link: Powepoints)

I hate the idea of giving loyal subscribers an advantage such as:  "You can buy Powerfeats – exclusive feats that can buff your character and provide you with new and very powerful spells and abilities!"

This may sound like a good idea to existing subscribers but if ever implemented this would just be another reason for new potential players (or returning players) to stay far away from AoC.

What is next? Ingame item-mall?

I seriously hope this feature never gets implemented!

We dont need casuals in our games!!! Errm... Well we DO need casuals to fund and populate our games - But the games should be all about "hardcore" because: We dont need casuals in our games!!!
(repeat ad infinitum)

Honestly, this argument is made with every single MMO released. They all do "veteran" rewards. It's never a big advantage and generally only is useful in the early lvls. This is one complaint I put in the "no merit" bin.

Aren't Power Point just a new name for what was supposed to be the 'Blood Money' feature that turned out to be vapor (like many of the features) right after launch???

Renaming a feature you never delivered and trying to sell it as 'new free content' only impresses people who never paid any attention.

i would welcome powerpoints, it would add to the overall content.

Yea, blood money and power points work almost the same.

Blood money was credits from killing people, which you'd use on bonus feats and shiny items.

Power points are gained from killing people in arenas, staying subscribed and certain guild events, and used for bonus feats and shiny items.

And of course neither are in the game, but both are used as a carrot in the stick to the unfortunate people still playing.

They still haven't implimented blood money? sheesh

Yes, with theoretical blood money you can theoretically buy theoretical bonus feats and theoretical shiny items and the same goes with theoretical power points. This game has potential.
