Quality, Caring Beta Testers

I don't think I am breaking the NDA here....I just wanted to say to folks....especially those that worry over many beta testers really only amounting to "preview players" (and yes, there are a few out there).....there are a LOT.....and I mean a LOT....of very good quality, rabid testers in there! I have been in several game betas over the years and the same can not always be seen for my past experiences.

I check the beta boards pretty thoroughly myself just looking for things to check on or making sure things I see have been reported. You would be absolutely amazed at some of the folks out there....everything is getting VERY tested.....damage....specs....stats.....effects working properly based on timers....EVERYTHING. It is pretty crazy to read how involved some of these folks get with it....but very reassuring as well. It's also nice to see that Mythic responds on the boards to all of these as well and will often ask for more info and help!!!!  I think a lot of the reason we are going to see this game before Christmas is due to the beta testers as well as the metrics Mythic has gained from them.

To the naysayers barking "oh it's getting released only because the dropped classes and all but 2 cities"....clue in....educate yourself before making such ridiculous posts. First off, they never said "never".....who knows....I could see those classes coming back in patches. For cities, it was explained VERY well...why worry over fixing bugs and exploits and such over 6 cities...why not make 2  opposing ones very bullet proof at release and then roll the others out when they too are complete and stable. You really have NO idea how massive the cities are! Again.....thanks to the beta testers for making them sooooo fun!!!! And again, Mythic never said "never", so yes, you will get those cities. Trust me...there is PLENTY else in there right now to keep you more than busy for MANY months. This ain't no AOC launch!

Anyways....to my fellow beta testers.....THANKS! Glad to be a part of the family. haha

....Soooo, you're admitting to being one of those who are just previewing the game??  "Oh, this game ain't fun, guess I'll play WoW!"  ???

Well, thanks for all your help.  It's greatly apreciated.

Excellent. More server space for real testers. Sorry this "preview" wasn't up to your alley.

When i want to play , I fire up one of my bought games and enjoy myself. When i feel like helping to make a great game , I log into beta.  Great concept ain't it?

The average wow player probably spends like 90% of their time sitting in AV. I speak from experience because its the best way to get honor, and the gear is on par with most raiding stuff. The truth of the matter is wow is boring as hell and after you have been in av like 10,000 times it really becomes mind numbing. Then oh guess what!? A new season comes out and there is a new set of armor to get... Rinse and repeat over and over and over...

As for the previewers i just want to say you suck, there is a lot of us that really want to play this game and work with it to make it better. You are just a waste of space.

No the average WOW player plays to have fun, the very few people who have no job in real life sit in AV all day. Just so happens you notice the very few more because they're annoying you more so it seems like more people are doing it than actually are., when I bet its a few thousand out of millions that are doing it.

Also if you don't like the game in the beta then you ain't going to waste your time playing it, so I have nothing against people who quit the beta because why would you waste part of your life when you ain't having fun... that's just stupid.

Also yes everything is being tested and Mythic are bery truthful about the state of the game not being what it should be, however it will still be another lackluster mmorpg at launch until they fix all the problems which as we know in mmorpgs that can take years.

The average WoW player is diluded and is happy-go-lucky until they realize that they're wasting their lives in AV rinsing and repeating the honor gain every time a new season comes out. Then they say "why the hell am I doing this" and sit in AV doing nothing, only to be insulted by the other people thinking they're having "fun".

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

I quit WoW a couple months ago.  Boring grindfest, repeating over and over again.  The PVE is the only good thing about WoW, and its a full-time job.  The PVP in WoW is a joke.  Arenas?  What a waste of time and boring as hell.  It started with the BGs, which killed world PVP, then it ended with Arenas, which killed the BGs and World PVP.  So you can either do AV a billion times to get geared up or join the perfect Arena group and get your gear.  Pretty silly if you ask me.  There is no team spirit at all - its all about getting your own gear together.  Common broadcast in WoW:

(Level 70 Shaman):  "LF Arena group"

(reply by Arena Jockey):  "Do you have 400+ resilience?"

(Level 70 Shaman): "No.  Its 387."

(reply from Arena Jockey): "lol, sorry can't take you."

    OR this one:

(Arena Jockey on Broadcast): "LF Rogue with 400+ Resilience, Full S3, Rating 2200 or above.  Must play late night or all day"

    OR this one:

(Dude with More Money Than Sense):  "Paying xxxxxxx gold to have my arena rating raised to 1800 so I can get cool lewtz.  Looking for [class here] with rating of [rating here] to level me"

I'm not exaggerating here.  People are a bunch of selfish jerks in WoW.  When I played DAOC the RVR was such a blast.  We all worked as a team.  Sure, many of us were grinding for realm ranks, but we had to work as a realm in order to do it.  Any chance of WoW's PVP being any good was totally ruined by BGs and Arenas.

WAR definitely is fun, very fun! It does have issues though. All the beta's I've been in have had issues, well except LOTRO.. which only had very few. I dont think the storyline and game mechanics will disappoint anyone. There is something that mite. Just one thing that comes off the top of my head.

Personally Ill be subscribing to WAR when it comes out.

I liked the classic wow and for me the expansion ruined it. This was back when getting gear was a challenge and required you to be in a great guild that could go threw things like bwl, naxx, aq 40 etc. The pvp gear was pretty good too but unlike today it actually took months to earn going up threw the ranks or months grinding rep in ab for example.

That was all back when you felt like you earned the stuff you wore. Now you can just be lazy in AV and get welfare epics as the dev's call them. The season 4 stuff now is basically the equivalent to the best raiding gear in terms of item levels. I never had any motivation to raid in the expansion even though i was a hardcore raider in classic wow.

Blizzard has starcraft 2, diablo 3 and the next wow expansion coming out but honestly it's just taking forever. However i think they handle the beta's a lot better than mythic. I never had a problem getting into blizzard betas, but for some reason getting into war betas requires you to fork over even more money on things like CE's. Some of us have been signed up for the war closed beta for over a year and still have not been accepted.

I've been signed up for the WAR beta since 6/2/2007.  Didn't get invited, and that irks me a little when I see these others who just joined or bought the CE (which I didn't get because I didn't realize the deal with it and now its not for sale).  I'm still devoted to it and will play it for sure.  I played DAOC for quite a few years and always loved it.  I also agree that classic WoW was far better than the junk they have now.  On the other hand, I don't feel Blizzard runs betas any better than Mythic.  I guess I'm just not one of the lucky ones now.

Your point? I have never had a problem getting into beta's before either, and the CE's where pretty much sold out before they even announced that CE's would get a CB invite so that counters you saying they required you to fork out even more money. It wasnt a requirement and when we bought the CE we didnt even know we would be getting invites.

The WAR beta seemed to be completely random and unless your IN beta how can you talk about how they handled there beta? There is a diffrence on how a company handles the beta and how they handle the selection process.

So Blizzard handles beta's better because you get into them? Thats short sighted. Maybe you should wait for the NDA to drop and ask the testers what they thought about the beta and how it was run. Blizzard has the ability to completely ignore testers(often do) and they rarely invite GOOD testers. Why? They don't want feedback they want bug hunters and stress testing.
