I played AoC a little, while waiting for WAR and i decided to just wait xD
I vote WAR !
Can't you wait for BOTH games being launched ???

Preorded AOC, played for three weeks then cancelled my account, game blows, wanted it to be great but it isn't, even without the bugs it's just an empty game with not feeling to it, grind grind, nothing to do, dungeons are stupid, bla bla bla, really really wanted AOC to be great. Went back to WOW...blaaaaaaa yuck but my friends are back there soooo. Now waiting on WAR to come out, will preorder it, hope and pray that it's great so I can cancel WOW.

I got into the beta for AoC about 1 month before getting into the WAR beta. Both progressed along nicely for a while then the AoC beta started going downhill. More issues were introduced than fixed with every patch and it seemed (before the launch date announcement etc) that Funcom was more concerned with the marketing than actually addressing the issues brought up by the testers.
On the flipside of the coin Mythic delayed their release. Towards the end of the AoC beta, while the gimmicky parts were nifty they were wearing on me and not quite as interesting as they were initially and WAR started looking far better. Especially in the way the betas were being handled. As AoC launch got closer i had little desire to log in.
WAR on the other hand, well... put it this way, for the first time since Ultima Online I have actually pre-ordered a game. Primarily because of hte way that Mythic has handled the beta and secondly because of the game itself. While WAR is not going to be the end all be all game for me it will tide me over and entertain me for a few months. How long? I dunno. Maybe til some of the sci-fi stuff starts coming out but at least long enough until Fable 2, fallout 3 and the like comes out at which time I will probably take a short break from mmo gaming

AoC really did suck but it proved how much WoW is sucking. WoW lost like a million+ people to AoC and they all went back because it sucked. Thats all WoW does is knows the other MMOs will fail and people will come back to WoW. WAR is not going to fail it almost has a million people applyed for Closed beta. So there is going to be around 2 million people on release. WAR is the #1 selling game on gamestop.com over Madden 09 and Wii. Age of Conan need what they are doing with WAR. It needs a good year in beta. Plus Funcom does not listen to what the players want. The game is dieing.
It's like asking what do you like more.. tators from Earth, or tators from Mars? We haven't tried tators from Mars yet so how can we possibly compare them?

I am trying to get guildmates to play WAR but most of them decided they were done with MMORPG after how terrible AOC was. It really stinks as now I'll probably have to find a new guild for it.

AoC can not even call themselves tators. They are like soggey french fries from Wendy's. So...I perfer the tators from mars.

This is why I hate AOC, It killed a part of the market.
WAR will help MMOs. Not show that everyone who makes them are greedy and don't care about their gamers.
Hell, Mythic even let EA buy them out so they could make a better game.

I was really looking forward to AoC and when it came out I thought it was fantastic. 20 levels later and I was still having fun but by level 34 I'd chucked in the towel due to boredom and frustration.
The state of AoC has left me really gutted for 2 reasons:
1. It had so much potential to be my favourite game ever, but now appears to be going downhill fast.
2. I was totally fed-up of WoW and needed something, ANYTHING to go and play instead.
So having spent ages digging for info, planning my characters and finally playing them I've abandoned AoC and pinned my hopes on a game I know virtually nothing about: WAR.
I can't be bothered to get excited and learn about WAR in case it's crap but I am looking forward to it. For me it's a bit of a last ditch attempt at having fun in a computer game as I'm getting older now and have lost my passion for gaming. I guess WoW sucked it out of me and AoC spat it back in my face *conjures up vile image*.
If WAR does turn out to be rubbish I'll probably wait til Diablo 3 is released simply because that started the whole MMO thing for me, unless of course a small miracle happens and someone puts out something I'd like in the meantime.

OK I'll bite. I THINK I won't like AoC because it sucks. I THINK I can't respond about WAR because I haven't tried it yet. I like tators from Earth. I've tried them already.
All I know is AoC beta went really bad so alot of ppl left.
AoC was good at launch since everyone was low lvl no 1 saw the flaws but as u lvled u see them more and more and with every patch they made that game worse until it was further broken.
right now if ur playing AoC ur duping gems and making crafted armor sets and standing around ur guild city doing nothing. fun...
AoC is pitiful garbage. Warhammer is the best MMO I have ever played.
