I have a couple questions about WAR I'm hoping to find some answers to...
Will WAR run natively in OS X or will Mac users be required to run it with Boot Camp?
Will there be a demo or trial for those of us who aren't sure if we want to spend money on the game without trying it first?

Sorry about my saying you had to leave. You can stay.
Now that we've got that out of the way, would anyone happen to have the answers to my questions? Thanks!

I went looking for the OS X answer but couldn't find anything.
The trial question though is no such critter has been announced.
I would guess more info will be available in a week or so (or whenever OB happens which is generally thought to be in the week or two).
From what I know WAR runs only in windows so I dont think it will run in OS X. dont know what boot camp is so cant answer that.
There wont be any trial in the near future from what I understand. All you can do is buy the pre-order for 5-10$ (depending where u find it) so you can play the open beta and if you dont like the game you can cancel and not pay the full game.
It will run under bootcamp only since it is a PC game. I have run LOTRO, EQ2, WOW, Vanguard, CoH etc... with bootcamp and they have all run very well with no problems.
I was also picked for CB and I do use one of the new intel macs for my gaming. So obviously it can and will work.
As a general rule, outside of providing an "everyone invited" open beta period (which WAR is not offering) there usually isn't a free trial offered for an "A list" MMORPG until 6-12 months have passed and the initial buzz is dieing down. The free trials generally come after core player numbers start dropping off and the complany is looking to infuse new players into their base.
Theorectically, if you are a dishonest person you could "cheat" the beta system on WAR by pre-ordering from Amazon to get into the open beta, and canceling your order before shipping. Unlike most other retailers, Amazon does not charge a downpayment for pre-orders. I hope that if you are interested in playing this game at all that you will not consider cheating the retailer and the developer just to get some "free" game play. If you are not certain you will like the product enough to invest your money in it, then patiently wait until after the game's release, and research the reviews and buzz before purchasing it.
I hope this answers your second question.
Windows only.
But, for Mac users that want to play, here were some options given from another source:
For many years I was a PC fanboy, always claiming Mac's to be overpriced garbage...then I bought one. I love my Macbook Pro, and whilst it may not be able to run all games on high settings it should be fine running WAR...but wait? Warhammer Online only supports Windows...that shouldn't stop you.
You have three options to play Warhammer Online on a Mac:
1. Crossover
This is may not work, as not everything works through this app, but if it does it will be awesome. Crossover allows you to run quite a few Windows-based apps/games on your Mac without actually having a partition of Windows or anything. It creates a fake C: drive and you can use the applications/games just as you normally would. The FPS obviously takes a hit, because it's being emulated, but it should still be playable.
2. Parallel's Desktop
This is very similar to Crossover, except you install a full copy of Windows on your Mac (yes, as horrible as that may sound), so WAR would definitely work this way, but there is the disadvantage of having a few gigs taken up just by Windows...which is a lot if you're using a notebook.
3. Boot Camp
Okay, well this is basically the same as playing on a PC. Included with Leopard, Boot Camp allows you to install Windows on your Mac, and then choose to boot it up when you switch your computer on. The advantage is you'll get the better FPS, but you won't be able to switch back to the wonder of the Apple interface unless you restart your computer.
...or EA Mythic could just release a Mac version of the game....doubtful though.
lol "Lineage II sarcasm"
I have a question. What happens to our beta characters after the official release? Do they get deleted or can we just keep going?
I don't have an official Mythic answer for you, but I can very easily speculate. Since Pre-order players are getting a "head start" post Open Beta but before the official launch, I would guess that all beta characters will be wiped prior to start. This makes sense because Mythic has been trying out various levels and tiers of play in the beta, and has been handing out higher level characters in some tests to validate the higher level play mechanics. It would be considered unfair to allow someone who was handed a higher level character to keep that character into game start. So if you want a jump on getting ahead of the wave of noobs comming into the game, get the pre-order.
I hope this helps.
