Welcome, everyone!  In two days from now, we will have the Q2 Report from Funcom...and until then we can only speculate how many subs AOC has.

They won't release any info about the current subs anytime soon, well, atleast acording to a norwegian news website.

They wont relase their subscription numbers... they have already said it.

however, I am expecting another cliff for their stocks to fall off of again after the 15th.

    Those numbers dont lie

More than likely they will be counting my mistake of a 6 month sub.  So I really think they will still have upwards of 250k active subs.

You appear to have made a mistake on your vote.  You've put a K after the numbers...

They will have Erling doctor the Numbers for subscriptions any way. We have never gotten a truthfull answer from Funcom befere why would they tell us the truth now?

Had to vote 270+..That's if that Jun 30 outlook had any accuracy. Some folks here have mentioned Q3, which will be more telling. The server I play on is the only concern I have when talking subs. It's population isn't improving :(

I cant see the current sub number below 200k....as much as a bad rap it gets on these forums, and as much as Funcom tries to dig deeper and deeper a hole for themselves, there should still be a good chunk subbed.

I'd have to disagree.  A recent run through the main cities on my server showed them to be virtual ghost towns.  Corridors once teaming with players sometimes are completely devoid of anyone even at prime time.

My son and I made the decision, we're leaving the game at the end of the month and starting WAR next month.  We gave AOC a good go...but just not enough to keep our interest, especially with most of the population exiting in droves.

They wont tell how many subs they have, they'll probably try to give us some meaningless numbers again, like shipped copies.

Why do you punish your son like this: Going from one new MMORPG to another dealing with all the issues, being paying beta-testers, and putting up with so much grief?

Of course, I'm being silly.  But there are established, good quality, games out there you could be playing together.

    Heyas...

In retrospect I disagree with my own conclusion as well..Was just tryin to stay in line with that outlook they make visible on their site. I think it was like 11.5 mil EBIT. Which can't include the initial sales, since initial sales were roughly 4-5 times that figure. I concluded that it was residual sales and 3 billing cycles?

In that case I could be way off.. 200k subs @ 9 mil (3 cycles) + residual sales + trial fee? Or any other combination to account for their earnings.

Not sure..but that outlook didn't look very good at all.

The 2 servers I visit are aren't teaming with life, by any stretch.

Funcom has made it clear they do not think the public has a right to know their sub numbers. They have never released them for AO and they won't for AoC. For one thing, the last AO players might take off if they were shown sub numbers confirming the 20k or less total subs which most have suspected for years. And the last of the AoC players would probably leave if they were confronted with  50k or less subs for AoC whole noticing continual drops.

Not to mention how fast the remaining investors would pull out.
