How long is too long to wait for a response from Turbine CS? I have been unable to update the game for a week and a half now and I sent a CS on day one. For some odd reason the Forum Administration over at LotR have decided to close forum registration so I can not seek help on the forums. What is my next step?
Just in case anyone else has seen this problem, I lauch the game client and get to the Update Programs portion of the patching process. It stops with an Update error occured: browser/res/samples/beeptest.html or unable to locate required http header) messages. I have gone as far as re-installing the software twice with no luck.

An update error occured:
browser/res/samples/beeptest.html
And then it sits there, reconnects and stops with the same error.
Hm...never seen that before. IS there a virus program problem. Have you made turbineenvoker.exe an exception?

Could try uninstalling the game then reinstalling it, that would be my guess. but whatever you do, DO NOT SYSTEM RESTORE! It will F all the files up and you will be screwed.
hes reinstalled twice now

Not sure if this helps, if you have a bad file, mabe look up the Lotro folder, delete it and load agin.. Cause i have loaded a game and delete it and still had the folder old one in there..
Hope this helps,
Tom

Sounds like a corrupted file thats not getting deleted when he uninstalls. I would uninstall and then check for LOTRO files that arent deleted by it on the main drive. Then reinstall.

Just a gess, if you run Vista, make sure you start the game in admin mode
He already stated that he is using XP SP2
