The game combat mechanics are flawed in my opinion.
When you hit lvls 11-16 (depending on your class) you HAVE to join a group to fight enemies. The roleplaying aspect is completely whiped away as you spend all your time looking for a group and then power level as much as you can before the party splits up.
The higher end quests are the same way...you need a group to help you.
Plus their aren't really "guilds" in this game...merely linkshells which are little colorful dialogue boxes that can connect you to people who are using the same ones. Hence you can have as many dialogue boxes as your inventory allows.
Moneyis veryhard to come by. Crafting is very time consuming and very costly.
The game has great potential but I dont like the mechanics.
I got up to lvl 55 BRD/27 WHM before I quit
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
Thanks
it seems the whole game is based on gaining xp through groups but what are it's good points!!!! or arn't there any?
Hey Kamiza, take a look at my post titled "My first impression on this game" a few posts down from this one. If you think FF11 looks good (i dont) then you havent played many mmorpg in my opinion. SWG and Eve are waaaaaaayyyyy better graphic-wise compared to FF11. Also, yes you will absolutely need to group in this game. Also, language and culture is a problem for me anyway. Majority of the players are japanese and dont speak english. They sometimes wont invite you when they fnd out you're an american or some other non-asian. Game is a bit difficult to get used to control-wise, I'd suggest a gamepad if playing on a PC. Its very difficult to find a group and when I did, they only stayed grouped for maybe an hr then disbanded so I had to look all over again. Overall, I tried the game out for a week solid but really didnt enjoy it (and Im an old-school FF fan)
