Hey guys,
2 things. Account center will not be opening until normal business hours. Second, Open Beta is not starting this weekend.

When is regular business hours?! 8AM EST?!
I would venture a guess at 9 am but my guess is it will actually be up at 10am. Not like they are going to just walk in to work, flick a switch and magically the updates are done.
People really thought they would get an Open Beta for a whole month?
Mythic isn't NCSoft with their Tabula Rasa lol. Wich only lasted more then a month, because they delayed the release at last minute for another 2 weeks.
An Open Beta usually lasts a week, 2 weeks at most. So don't expect it to start earlier then beginning of September.

I don't see why people thought it would start this weekend. All they said that you would be able to donwload the files and put your codes in.

There is a beta. I'm in it.
I was dissapointed when i found out, i thought it would be the 15th because of code activations and such. Oh well.
Thank you for this post, it explains why the Account creator wouldn't accept my hard earned Beta key.
Well no two companies handle betas the same way. You can't just assume this open beta will only last a week or two. The gm said it's not starting this weekend, perhaps thats some indication that it will be starting during the week. Lets hope so anyways.
edit - They said normal business hours start at around 10am est. So you will probably be able to register and download everything by noon.

Im making a guess that you can download files and put in codes and they will start beta next week, letting players get their accounts ready.
they are doing the preview weekend before the open beta. mark said the preview weekened would not be this weekend, so open beta won't start till the 25th at the earliest. sorry for the bad news guys.
Look at the bright side, if we can download the Ob client we can play the login screen. It's better than nothing.

I have been in many Beta's before. Mainly Closed ones.
Open Beta's are for only one reason and one only: Game Server stress testing! That's it!
Sure the Marketing boys of the companies wrap it up in a nice package as BONUS in Pre-Orders to get as many people possible in buying the game before launch. But that's bussiness practice since the last year or two. Before it was more honest and people could get into Open Beta for FREE and devs just be honest in saying it's a week or two week stress test.
So to come to the conclusion. So far, all Open Beta's have lasted a week to two weeks MAX!
Tabula Rasa was a true exception, because NCSoft prosponed the releasedate for two weeks at the last moment and so extending the Open Beta for an extra two weeks.
So you can expect the WAR Open Beta to start no earlier then beginning September!
Any time sooner you can see as a bonus. But don't get your hopes up. You only end up dissapointed.
