That day is today
http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=FUNCOM.OL&t=5d&l=on&z=m&q=l&c=
And the game is loosing 5 million UDS on Q of release... And the future is based on keeping custimors... lol - ye right. Dream on Funcom.
Investors are selling at all time low price - even lower than pre - launch low. The bubble has bursted. Considering that 3 huge MMOs are coming out with new content in next few months its for all to see that its all over. Now its time for dmg control and simply try to survife without loosing more money. If that is possible is anohter matter.
Nothing will save this game now. So plz dont subscribe to it cause there is not even guaranty that the servers will be up for another month.

And here I thought it died on may 20th.
Its should have been called Age of Titanic the way things have been going. Looks like the Lie machine Funcom has relied on since before release has failed.
I have never seen a game create this kind of hate in the community before. Guess that at least makes Funcom #1 at something.

Honestly, their numbers are worse than even I expected. I knew that subscriptions would fall fast, but I thought that Funcom would be profitable for that one quarter because of all those box sales. The fact that they couldn't be profitable with 800k box sales really is a huge warning about 3Q when they won't have hardly any box sales (currently number 81 in pc game sales).
I think players now know why the patches have been so bad. The accountants knew this stuff 2 months ago, probably most of the dev and QA team have already been let go.
I did not expect the June numbers to be as low as they were. I noticed the server population getting low in July. I wish they would have given an actaul number for July 30 since there is no way they held 415k subs after June 30.
But that would be asking them to go against their business model and tell the truth to the community for once.
Have you forgotten Vanguard already?

thanks for that link it really is undeniable by looking at the facts that funcom are in real trouble. if they go broke i wonder if anyone would buy the game off of them and try and turn it around . given the competition it faces from the likes of lich king and warhammer (or even the mines of moria and aion) i really can see conan only ever becoming a niche game .
it really should never have been released because it was finnished enough to merchandisable and the majority of people dont want to pay to play what is tantamount to a beta . i think if they have kept thier heads and postponed the release while they worked on some of the problems rather than released early due to financial pressure undoubtedly being placed on the developers it might have been a different story
what a shame
r.i.p age of fail
I once believed in an idea that was Age of Conan, but no more, I am betrayed as all of you have been by Funcom (frequently called Failcom these days for good reason.) Good-bye Conan.. If only your kingdom wasn't ruled by decievers..

Vanguard was not as bad as AoC, it was bad byt not this bad. Worst thing is this game has no potential since the core is a mess.
I agree. I was there at release with Vanguard.
The game was playable and the CORE was at least working.
Problem with Vanguard was the steep Hardware requirements (just like with Age of Conan now) that made a lot of people angry and quit alone already. False advertisement about min. system requirements ringing a bell? AoC dejavu? lol
Plus after that it was the horrible chunking (freezing on intersections of zones for the ones that dont understand this) and the amount of incomplete and empty zones that made the rest of the people quit.
Age of Conan is actually worse, as the CORE of the game. The very RPG mechanics itself are a mess, horribly broken and just not working. Not to mention the itemization and ingame economy being non-excistent.
Cheers
This game died at release:
Instanced to the hilt, buggy, half-finished and zero character customization.
Now that I am roaming around Telon again, I truly wonder how AoC thought they could get away with a patchwork of instances being called an MMO.
This is not an MMO. It doesn't even feel like a world. Hyboria might as well be some sort of STD.
I am truly convinced September 18th will be its death knell.
I am getting that feeling too.
- NDA of WAR is actually going to be lifted long BEFORE release. Age of Conan NDA is STILL in place lol.
- WAR is getting already so much positive vibe from the community, because so many are lyric about it that they already breaking the NDA lol.
So if WAR is going to deliver, then 18th of September will be the final nail in the coffin for Funcom.
Today I have recieved a mail from Funcom giving me a key for playing for 5 days for free in AoC just because I was an Anarchy Online subscriber a lot of years ago.
I love Karma.
How long till Age of Crapnon dies?
