These have been some turbulent times for both Mythos and Hellgate: London. Following the closing of Flagship Studios, recent news revealed Namco-Bandai Games as Hellgate: London's saviors, while the fate of Mythos remained uncertain, but grim. However just over a week later, the Hellgate: London page at Namco-Bandai has already disappeared.
In another turn of events, Gamasutra reports that Korea's T3 Entertainment, perhaps best-known for their online music game Audition, is seeking programmers for its new development studio in San Francisco: "T3 Entertainment is searching for creative minds to passionately continue development of Hellgate: London and Mythos, along with other new games, which are being published by HanbitSoft Inc."
This may put to rest the dispute over IP which HanbitSoft was engaged in with Flagship Studios, as T3 Entertainment is HanbitSoft's largest stockholder.
With any luck, the opening of a North American studio signifies a healthier future for both Mythos and Hellgate: London. We'll keep you posted, once more details become available.

That will be sweet if Mythos is brought back.
That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!
Heheh, I told everybody that taking that post by Tiggs as proof Namco-Bandai was going to keep the game afloat was ignorance. Guess they'll listen now. Enjoy your new item mall, Hellgaters. Heh.
Mythos is back in development.
Awesome! Mythos >>>> HGL.

My cousin worked for Flagship as a programmer. He got laid off like 3 weeks ago, but he had this to say when I asked him about it...
"Technically, Flagship still exists as a legal entity. But everyone except the founders got laid off on July 11th, and I think a few of them have since left as well. The Mythos servers were shut down shortly thereafter but Namco took over the operation of the US/EU Hellgate servers... although no one's around to continue development on the game at this point, so I don't know what's going to happen.
It was a complete surprise to almost everyone there - we knew we weren't a raging success but I don't think anyone besides the founders/upper management knew how far in the hole the company was.
The Korean publisher/distributor is trying to get the rights to the IP and codebase to continue development of Hellgate (but only for the Korean market)... they made some job offers to some of us programmers but I don't think anyone went for it.
The worst part about it is that the next big online content update was almost done - we probably would've released in just a couple of weeks... but I don't know what's going to happen to that now."
Nothing that hasn't already been rumored about, or announced, but I thought getting news/info from someone who actually knew something would be nice (not that you guys don't *know* anything).
Everyone wish him luck finding a new industry job since he won't be working for T3!

I don't see why the US/EU servers wouldn't get patched if/when the Asian ones do. I'm guessing that will happen, otherwise the publisher wouldn't have opened a studio in San Francisco (very pricey there).

Starting a new chapter using recycled waste somehow seems illogical.
NOOOOOOO NOT THEM! THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUCH TERRIBLE GIRND FESTS AS SWORD OF THE NEW WORLD AND SWORD OF THE NEW WORLD! ONE OF THE CRAPPIEST GAMES I EVER PLAYED!
I must try this game "Sword of the New World and Sword of the New World" lol sorry for being a smart ass. Anyways, at least the devout HGL players will have something going for them....for better or worse.
