Howdy, Stranger!

It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!

Whats the objective?

All i can really find out about this game is that its new, you can fly, there may or may not be insane amounts of grinding, and the graphics are cool...oh and you can choose male/female on all but one class.

So is there realm vs realm?

Is there a seriously well made guild system with many objectives, other than ganking the other guild members and starting drama (that happens anyway)

What will be my purpouse in game? to get to the highest level and the best gear as fast as i can?

is there a point?

not trying to upset an anxious community i just want to know what to expect before i jump in on monday...is the goal to be leet (sigh) is there an in game objective other than fetching mob drops for 100"s of npcs that connect in no way to a storyline?

Really no big deal if the only thing to do is to level up and find drops, i just want to mentally prepare myself for a mind numbing grind fest, or intense pvp, or cool storyline and quests (i doubt it), or a party with friends and grind in a random dungeon(must prepare to spend much time seeking a party then to accomplish much).

So fill me in what can i expect as far as gameplay objectives?  Im ready for anything to be honest.

Perfect World is anything but new. Perfect World International is their attempt to break the American/European market with a well translated port. The Malaysian version has been around a while with poorly translated English.

http://www.perfectworld.com.my/ Is a link to the Malaysian site and has some good info on the game.

    And some features here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfect_World

anyone who wants to try out this game should try out the Malaysian version. The upcoming international version is suppposed to be more English-lang-friendly and server-friendly

Haha try the malaysian version? i did try to do it twice ,but there old fashion inept account sign ups are horrible.I got nothing but errors and run a round ,i gave up.

I am actually looking forward to playing this NA version as i read it has a lot to offer.Well the stuff i read about was the Malaysian version,i expect this game to be much similiar.

Not too many games have caught my eye over the last few years ,this one i am going to give a fair shake. My expectations are high but at the same time i won't be overly disappointed as it is an asian game,i kind of know what to expect form the malaysian/korean games by now.I am hoping for the better.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Why bother with the malysian version? In a few days CB begins, keys can be found here on mmorpg.com and then you can try it out.

Also, might be worth mentioning that there's another version that starts in September, the Multilangual version (has server for Spanish, French, German, Türkish and English people, servers are located in Germany), at http://www.perfectworld.ms.

Me, I'm gonna try the CB on the International version, and play on the "European" (they seem not to exacly like that name) version, higher ping, also an English speaking community, and I can be certain of good hours for events.

Phenominal input guys...i still have no idea what to expect.  Anyone care to read my post and answer to their best ability?

i hate when people highjack a thread meant to inform me, and others, who may be wondering about the game.

The game itself is beautiful.  I find myself e-sightseeing while I play.  The classes are pretty straightforward if you've played any other MMO - archer, healer, tank, warrior, pet class, mage.  The PVP on the PVP server essentially means that after lvl 30 you're fair game to anyone and everyone as you play, except in town.   The other server will be optional PK - if you turn it on after lvl 30 then it's the same as the PK server.  If you don't, then you're untouchable unless you accept a dual (which you lose nothing from, other than health, and you automatically rez on the spot).  The quests are not as random as other games I've played, though the overall storyline can be a bit thin at times.  The quests can be a bit tedious sometimes, but they reward you pretty well.  You'll run into some dead points where you have no quests, but usually it's not for more than a half level or so (give or take).   The drops from mobs are pretty standard fare, though certain mobs will drop certain things at different rates (crafting materials, etc)  The items are rated in a star system and will have a random chance of being socketed or having extra attributes for your character.  Crafting is fairly simple, once you realize how it works.  For instance to make a low level weapon you'll need - fat (mob drop), iron (picked up from the ground) and a cheap npc item.  Different items will need different things.  Also, you have to level up your crafting (ex. you have to make 10 lvl 1 items before you can make any lvl 2 items - repeat).  There's some great sites out there that have world maps, and there's easy to find drop databases that cover everything.  After lvl 60 or so, the quests dry up, and it becomes either a grind, or dungeon parties.  But there's a territory system that allows high lvl guilds to hold territories and have to defend them against other guilds who will try to challange to take them.  Oh, and only elf classes can fly (archer and cleric).  Other classes have to get flying items from the cash shop.  You can jump in this game, and it pretty much has moon gravity.  No getting hurt if you fall from any height.  Don't know what else to cover, since there's so much more, but that's a pretty decent general overview of the game.
