While I am in the Beta along with you thats not what I was referring to.
Going back to previous Betas in other games people dont beta the class they want. Sure people may be playing tons of tanks or healers in beta but in retail they will go with the tried and true melee or ranged DPS. or vice versa, that is what I meant. I haev a feeling whiel alot of people will be playing chosen at first because of how cool they look they wont play them for long because they dont want to be a tank type class.
To be quite honest the most lacking type will be RDPS.
There is going to be an abundance of Chosen, Shaman, Witch Elves, Black Orcs and other highly popular characters. However, most people that want to be a Dark Elf will want to be a Witch Elf or Disciple of Khaine. Everyone that want to be Chaos will likely be more attached to Marauder, Chosen or Zealot. Most who like Greenskins will be more attached to the Black Orc or Shaman.
I fail to see how tanks will be useful in PvP combat. If they are heavily armored, but don't do much damage, won't people just ignore them till last when they can no longer be healed, then kill them? If they don't have DPS output closer to a CC DPS class, I fail to see their non-PvE use, therefore I'd be surprised if there were a surplus of tanks.

warhammer is a different game then most mmorpgs, mythic thought of great uses for tanks in pvp as they have stated in podcasts.

If I knew anything about how the game works, I'd assume that Tanks can do pretty decent damage with a two-hander. Not comparable to say...MDPS, but respectable enough that ignoring them would be dangerous. I'd also assume that Tanks have some sort of mechanics to make hard on people who ignore them and go for the others.
This is of course assuming I knew how the game works.
Here's how the tanks work, if you would have done any searching at all instead of being a trolling idiot you would have found this out.
There is collision detection, a tank, or a wall of tanks, can simply stand in your way and keep you from getting to whoever they're protecting.
The "taunt" type abilities actually have a use in PvP. First, they disrupt whatever spell or ability you may be attempting to use, second, until you hit them 3 times they do extra damage to you, or you do less damage, I've heard both but I can't remember which it is off of the top of my head.
MMO's Played: Current- none Waiting For- WAR, ChampO Beta- Auto Assault, Mythos, Tabula Rasa Trial- EQ, EnB, AC 2, SWG, UO, AO, EVE Full Version- CoX, WoW, Vanguard, EQ2, GW, DDO, LotRO, Dungeon Runners, Hellgate

Oh, hi asshole. You accuse me of being a trolling idiot after providing my opinion in an OPINION POLL? I think that makes you a troll...
I've also watched every single podcast. That is most of my knowledge of the game, other than reading about each of the specific classes on the class pages, and various gameplay videos.
But thanks for answering my question in a very snarky way.
I wouldn't worry about that too much in this game.
If you are usuing the current community as a reference then i see why you say this, But honestly i expect what we saw in WoW, horde in beta and the people who followed it mostly wanted hord. Same goes with classes, people following a game during pre release will prob actually spread amongst the classes evenly, but when it comes to Everyone else, you cant tell me there wont be 50mil birght wizards cause they like fire .
You get the idea
OR you will get tanks that dont tank or support wont heal, ect

Likely, but this is a RVR game, not a PVP game. So people will have to come together out of necessity, or fail. RVR veterans will likely offer the newer people a choice of adapt or be left behind. Games that necessitate social interaction and cooperative behaviour tend to weed out the people you are talking about quick.
I forgot which MMO it was, I think it was EQ2, that had tank taunts force other players in pvp to target you for a given amount of time. I always though that was a cool idea.
Currently Playing: PoE/TSW
Played Chronologically: EQ, EQ2, WoW, GW, Vanguard, Hellgate, AoC, WAR, DF, UO, Tera, PoE, TSW

ah ahaha ahhahaha ahhahahahahahaha please Wait for the NDA to drop to have Order tell you about tanks in RvR............just wait my friend
Destruction wont be lacking tanks no worries cause Chaos Chosen will be the most played class.
Although more will go 2 hand dps they can tank pvp and some pve decently and when they see they are so many roaming around looking the same lots will pick up a shield instead.
I'm gonna go on a limb here and say the classes that will be lacking the most on the destruction side is ...ummm...Black Guard and Choppa?
Them not making it in cannot get anymore lacking than that me thinks
Of course, having them in and utterly broken or otherwise not fun to play would still consign them to the same fate. Better to leave them out and avoid the perception of broken classes at launch.

I am actually going with a healer class to begin with. Well, then again no classes are specific to one archtype. I'm going with the Zealot first. So Stoked.
"Shhhhh Shhhh, that's right calm down, stop crying, you'll stop breathing and go to sleep very soon. That's right. ..Goodnight"

I respect your opinion but you are completely wrong lol. As to the OP I'm in beta with you and I know exactly why you asked that.

You probably should have made the poll class specific. I don't really think we will have a lack of anything if we're talking archetypes.
Perhaps, but I have a feeling you would be surprised.
If you are talking about your experiences in closed beta, save your breath... I'm in it too.

Do you mean most sought after or the least popular?
If popular, then Melee DPS wins hands down. Nothing is even close to rivaling it. If you mean what's needed, I'd say Ranged DPS.
tanks and healers are always in short supply because everyone wants to play some kind of DD class
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
