Darkfall killer in the works?

To those of you who have seen/read anything on the upcomming MMORPG "Mortal online", I ask you this. Do you think it will kill Darkfall before it even hits the shelves? Seems to me that it is everything Darkfall is and maybe more. It has a huge seamless world, "sandbox feel" {by their own description}, no classes {unless you choose to}, FFA PVP world with no safe zones, no leveling {skill based}. On top of all this they claim to be creating one of the most visually stunning MMO's ever.
Now i am NOT trolling. im pretty much a DF fanboi. i just want your honest opinion. If Darkfall doesnt hit my local WAL-MART shelves in the next year {fairly likely}, Mortal online may be, they are shooting for summer 2009, and if DF tries to come out after this they will be selling a very similar game with far more outdated graphics. They might seem like a second hand knock off at that point.
all this is assuming Mortal online is finished when they say it will be and it is a polished product with all the features its claiming too. So.......youre thoughts?

Well, that's the risk they run taking 7 years to make a game while having all of their features open to exploitation by other companies.If Mortal Online, or any other game, comes out with the same or more features touted by Darkfall before Darkfall hits the streets, Darkfall is dead in the water.
But, since I sincerely doubt Darkfall will ever release within the next 10 years, I'd say they might as well give up now, because they WILL be beaten to the punch.
i doubt it to high of gfx to take df out plus mortla isnt going to release in 2009.
if df releases with its promised features(in good working order) there is no way in hell..
is the only reason yout hink this is because they havent shown everything they say they have..

ok "Darkfall killer" may be a bit strong, but "A game that may hurt Darkfalls sales a little" didnt sound as nice. : )

Eh, issue is, that there is no such thing as a WoW Killer. I'm pretty sure no matter how awesome a game might be, it will only apply to a portion of the WoW population. It will actually take at least a party of "WoW killers" to take it down, maybe even a raid of them to keep it down.
I'm pretty sure that people would still keep their sub for WoW even if that occured, just incase they had an itch, or wanted to try the next expansion (if there is one past the Lich King).
Now to this will "this" kill "that" argument. Darkfallers seem to be pretty damn loyal considering how long this game has been in development. So while Mortal Online may take a nice big chunk out of the Darkfallers, there will still be a dedicated fanbase around just for it. Now how long that game will last on the otherhand, is a different question.
Mortal Online is more vapor than Darkfall. At least Darkfall has screenshots and ingame videos and not some video that they can only claim is "in-game content" because it's probably going to be the movie that plays at start up.
It would be nice if any new skill based MMO releases already. But that game has showed even less than Darkfall and is planning a summer 2009 release?

Darkfall was also announced 8+ years ago... Mortal Online was announced like 6 months ago so yeah...
The Mortal Online teaser says Ingame Technology, not content, btw.
If you went and put all of the information on DF together, then all of the information about MO together and divided it per month, MO would win by a landslide, can't wait to see what they do for GC08.

Mortal Online has yet to release in-game screenshots, so its still a fair way off the radar I would say.
But to answer the OP, Mortal, Earthrise and DF all fall into the same kettle of fish for me. The first one to release (provided it is a half decent game of course) will most likely have me.
Mortal Online looks brilliant ,the Devs use to work on UO.Check it out...if it delivers it seems like what we are waiting for ..A real Sandbox MMO game

Regarding sancoxMMOs. Most DF followers waits for DF because there isnr many sanbox MMOs out there or in development. As soon a new is announced, example Mortal Online, the DF community are usually the opnes to flock the new forums and talk about it. Thats how much they want a sanbox game to play.

hmm, when i think of it. I have never given that a thought before. First or third person, i think its pretty much the same.
And i think its very funny that we have begun to "flame" other sandbox MMOs here at the DF forum.

It's sad when someone who watched the video once back when it was put up knows more about the game than someone who is actually following it. As someone else said, it says it was "Produced using in game content and technology" which anyone who follows games knows means "This isn't actual gameplay footage."
I have to agree with you Fischerblack , i think we are all just starving for a good sandbox MMO, Lets hope DF and a few others all become reality. Maybe a little competition would be good for the whole community.

LOL. I like this guy! I can't say much about the situation...But I think that the first MMO with full-loot that is fun to play and actually releases, will beat any other game like it, no matter how many features are lacking. The playing population will be incredibly loyal because it'll be the first MMO to accomplish an idea that has been thrived for, for quite some time. I don't think it'll matter which is actually the better game, Darkfall or Mortal. First out, is the first to access the fanbase.
