High Elves of Warhammer - We wear long white skirts and conehead helmets - how uncooler can we get ?

I mean really , people are crying about class imbalance.

But think what people think is cooler ?

White skirt wearing man with conehead helmet and long blond hair

Or

Embodiment of evil encased in black badass full plate armor

............

I really wonder what will be the popular choice

That High Elf picture there looks pretty cool actually.

It seems to me that they were based on chinese warriors maybe from the Ming Dynasty period.

Just pretend you're not wearing skirts, but instead wearing a Samurai's robe and armour.

Elves are cool, no other class gets to Narfle the garthock (10 points for the refference)

Ok a bit off topic but i have to ask having seen the high elf screenshot. Are the high elves heads really cone like and take up that entire helm, or do the highelves really just insist on wearing a impossible to miss Helm. Doesn't matter if the Highelf ducks, or the enemy swings high, that helms gonna be knocked clean off (possibly taking the head with it or at least snapping the the Highelves neck) in the first few seconds of any combat.)

The celts wore skirts and we all know they were badass. lucky you didn't play age of conan because there isn't a pair of pants to be seen in that game.

Of course AoC has pants, there are quite a few actually. The problem was that most of the armors in the game, including the "skirts" were quickly made items much like place holders due to Funcom not being able to put in all the items in the game at launch and they still havent come close. Same thing happened when vanguard launched.

I don think there is anything wrong with the robe style of "dress" that the WAR classes have, but the Cone hats and over all High Elven style is pretty  tacky imo. Cone helms are not known for being anything close to bad ass, much like the hairstyle of Marge from the simpsons.

I want a hat for my elf that even the pope would be envious of!

  • LobotomistLobotomist Member EpicPosts: 5,981

Problem is , having to wear pointy helmets from start of their training. Heads of young high elven warriors quickly take shape of the cone them selves. This is a shocking truth most high elves work hard to disguise and deny...

But here you go, the shocking proof !

All hail the mighty Nagarythe !

High elves look really cool.  The chosen actually look a little awkward and bland to me.  Still I have always, and always will play human classes.

High Elves on Warhammers are the very definition of "IMBA Awesome".

Now.. the artwork for Elves is very good, and the ingame art is very good. If you don't like that, chose empire or chaor or something else.

"Tzeentch Chaos Warriors are often blessed with strange mutations or wear armor with arcane inlays that improve the potency of their lord's magic. Warriors of Chaos are awesome fighters, their skills honed through years of constant battle. Driven by a thirst for immortality they are more than a match for the warriors of other armies. One of the few ranked up units in a Chaos army they add a tangible, hard-hitting core to a force."

Taken from the GW website. So no, they are not with the wrong god. Each Chaos god can command their own version of the Chaos Warriors apparently.

Then you have the Magus which rides a disk given by the favored of Tzeentch. The Marauders also can apparently server under any Chaos god.

They didnt pick the wrong god but i do think it could have been established better. Perhaps maybe in the expansions we might find other god's armies and units joining the mix.

These sound like defensive measures to me.  The skirt provides for more freedom of movement and the cone hat makes you look taller and perhaps more threatening.  The beautiful, shiny, long tresses are merely a distraction to confuse your opponent, since many males find blonds attractive.

  • fansedefansede Member UncommonPosts: 960

What would be really interesting if your skirt flew up as you swing your blade. Maybe add a defense buff for more impressive manuevers..

True it seems a bit fopish, but the elves embrace such things.

If you have to fight, might as well look your best!

Looking cool wasnt something I ever applied to WAR characters anyway. WAR has qualities, but cool looking player characters didnt count into that. So I dont think queer looking coneheads stick much out in this crowd of ugly weirdos anyway. My gut feeling tells me WAR is mostly something like Planetside: TONS of PVP and death-orgies (run in, fight 3 seconds, die, run back in ad nauseam) where it doesnt really matter how you look. Those who look for a "better WOW" will IMO be greatly disappointed. But I want to try it out, maybe I am mistaken, tho I dont think I will be.

Saw an archmage healing in an rvr video, he was a shining beacon of light that basically told the nearby dark elfs " KILL ME IM HEALING".
