This is about the RvR system that has been implented thus far and is most likely to stay.
As you all know, Order and Destruction have to fight it out to gain possession of tier 1, 2, 3 in order to gain access to these "semi-capital" cities. After invading 2 out of the 3 semi-capitals of the opponents team then you can invade the main city. I am afraid of two things........
1) There will be a huge imbalance between the armies of order and destruction (most likely destruction)., which means that pretty much everyday, the destruction side will dominate and invade every city and gain access to altdorf, while the outnumbered army of order will sigh under their breathe every day, while destruction gets to loot the main city dungeons.
or
2) There will be a huge balance between the armies, so that everyday there is a stalemate and neither of the armies get to reach the capital city and do the public quests.
Did I miss something? I feel that the RvR system will be pointless if one side gets to get all the riches or if both teams are duking it out and end up at a stalemate. Will the devs implement "Events" that'll occasionally favor one side over the otheR? I feel that a lot of the players are going to feel frustrated.
what do you think?

I heard from one of the videos on Warhammer Online (don't remember which one) but they did comment that if there is a relm imbalance they will offer incentives for people to join the relm that is having population problems. Also, if I remember right but this maybe bad memory but NPCs will also back up the relm that is having trouble in different aspecs but like I said my memory is bad so I could be totally wrong.
hmmm....you've brought up a good point
i'm sure mythic will have a way to balance armies, although the playerbase should do a good job of evening realms out themselves (there are always going to be those people who like to roll the underdogs)
as far as a stealmate goes, there are so many contributing factors, so i don't belive you will see weeks of stalemate
Scenario 3-
you get people standing around doing nothing soaking up exp but contributing nothing
thats what im afraid of
All I can say is dont worry about it, I can say more without breaking NDA.
Remember to read my full review tomorrow when NDA lift (if it lift).
Stalemates are the best IMO.
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.
You don't need to worry about A or B. It won't happen. Seriously don't worry. Just get ready to get your socks rocked.
Beta populations isn't a good indicator of what will happen when Live arrives. And if there's a population imbalance, i'll join the losing side, because then i'll see the other side's capital less, which means more replayability for me.
realm population isn't really the problem. There will always be alot of players running istances, doing PQs, afking, doing scenarios, working on crafting etc...this will be what makes or breaks a realm. If a call to arms is made and people don't answer they shouldn't get mad when they lose their capital city.
If the road-to-war site is any indication there will be an imbalance in favor of destruction. But if what the devs said about how they were going to handle imbalances, incentives and buffs, then I'm not too worried about it. I suppose we just need to hang on for a few more hours to find out, once the NDA drops. I'll gravitate to the underpopulated side, whichever that is, it always seems a bit more fun to be playing on the side of the underdog.
If I remember correctly its not all about pvp when it comes to the campaign. That PvE also adds to supporting the war effort and releases different events or things. That is if my memory serves me right. Quests and other events if one side completes over the other can help turn the tide on the battle field. Plus I do believe that guilds will also play a critical role in balancing things out. Banners and other things in guild can turn a group of players into a powerful force. Not sure of the specifics but this could counter being outnumbered in some situations. So some well organized guilds on a weaker side could turn the tide.
One is also forgetting the upper tier zones are fortresses if they are done right this should always give a huge advantage to the defender. Since all sieges are on a time clock from what I watched on their pod casts all defenders have to do is hold off the horde of attackers for a period of time. Questing also seems to play a role. Think the way I read it even once the city is open it broken up into smaller instances of battles where things might get evened out. 45 vs 45 I think in street fights so really then does not become a major factor in these smaller instances if Order is out numbered over all 1000 to maybe 600 (just making up numbers here) For 45 vs 45 is an even fight and a good guild or group of order players can rack up points to hold off the attackers and reset everything to neutral.
This can create that even stalemate possibility but think as the game grows in popularity or people shift from one sever to another this will change.
Also remember there are three main fronts. One side has to capture two in order to then lay siege to the main city. Lets say order is outnumbered on the server. It would all depend where on those fronts the enemy outnumbers the other side. It is possible that Order could out number Destruction on two fronts all because Destruction is all on one front there for forcing Destruction on the defensive.
Since I am not in beta I am only guessing at things and how imbalance of population may not be all devestating as it might be. I could be totally wrong for I don't know the total in workings of the game just what I seen in vids and posts.
If I remeber, the RvR campaign is like a points race. so there can't be any stalemate. Both sides will be gaining points and one side is bound to move faster than the other. Also handicaps will placed if there are huge population imbalances.
