1. I am really struggling to get used to the combat action delay. The closest game I have seen to this is LOTR where they que up abilities. It is hard to press an attack and not have it happen immediately. Makes it so I have to actually look at the buttons instead of the field of battle to figure out what's "plan" I am on.
Let me understand - WAR lets you que up the abilities ?

Because for example Vanguard also have "delay" but it does not let you que up ability , so you all the time have to look at skill icons ... and that sucks
no it does not allow you to queue abilities, and i do not believe they intend adding ability queues. although this can always change.
OMG!
Woow!!!!
This is main reason why i left Vanguard.
It also has global cooldown. I couldnt stand that you have to watch the skill bar and press the next skill when glob.cool is over.
Instead like in LOTRO , press the skill , and it executes when it is ready.
What does this mean for WAR (as it did for Vanguard) - you will have to watch your quickbar all the time. Instead looking at the action on the screen - or alternatevly press, press, press, press the skill button - until the skill is available
Hmmm
So that was the constant clicking sound i heared on all those gameplay videos...
Or you could just take the C/D into consideration and not bang the keyboard like you are still playing space invaders, alittle skill doesnt hurt anyone...does it?
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"
Their stance is more then likely they don't want the game to run itself for you in any shape or form. Whether it be small skill queues or macros. It is all down to your reaction.
I'm a big supporter of queing abilities, but really it's not that hard to time it out in your head or just take a quick glimpse and see where the CD is, then from that point time it perfectly.
Just mashing over and over is a choice you can make if you can't get timing down right though. Though during heated rvr, i find myself doing 333333333...i must admit lol.

Yeah in pve it is easy enough to get a pattern down but RvR is something else. That is when I wish it was more responsive.
... 3. Vent guilds will absolutely destroy pugs in any RvR instance. And guilds on vent don't do RvR instances once. They grind them since they get XP and realm points for their side. Though I plan on doing exactly this, it will really frustrate non-guilded casual players if they ever step inside one of these RvR instances.
....
This was one of the main issues with WoW battlegrounds which players hated, glad to see WAR cloned this as well. Good Job Mythic! all that money into making a game and you couldnt even put more thought into that!
There is no join as warband option so the most you will get is a 6 man preform group. Some of the scenarios are 24 vs 24. I don't think preforms will dominate in the way they did in WoW. There really is no solution to the problem, you have to allow people to play with their friends, limiting it to one group is the best way to do it.

Consider that you are pressing the buttons like 1.000 times each day.
And considering youtube videos i seen , i always heared frantic repeated "click, click, click"
It was the guy , that was to buisy running fighting to look if the global cooldown is finished
You know, i bet you do it too
But , some games (and some gamers) think frustrating is fun , and frustration is skill
And than some smart developers , make that the skill you pressed stays pressed , until global colldown is over. And than it executes.
So you are free to actually play, and not look at skill bar 90% of the game time

Many people get scared when they hear "queued" , they think it is about queuing like 10 abilities and ging for a sandwich ...
No
It is just about one ability.
You press it, and it executes either emidiately , or after its cooldown is over.
You dont have to wait
