starter creation CD, name reservation?

in Everquest II

did anyone else read about the starter creation disk having a way to upload the characters name prior to launch to reserve the name on that server?

If so was there a URL for this?

    Hi,

    Sorry but you cant reserve names. Can only make how you character looks, ie: race, sex, hair etc.. etc...

    God, I wish there was a way to reserve names.  how long do you think Simon is going to last if it hasn't been taken by some hippie beta tester already.  Im assuming that they will do a char. wipe before the actual release date though.

    Nope but I did read the message on the screen when you're creating your character that says you're not reserving a name, and that you'll have to try and get it opening day just like every one else. It comes up 2 or 3 times when making your character...

    I'd trust the CD from Sony long before I trusted something I read on the internet etc.

    Register as soon as you can upon game release if your concerned about getting the name you want.  Its the only way.

    the beta testers dont get to reserve their names either.

    lol best bet is to get be at the store when the shipment arrives, rush home and install.

    Simon may be hard to get...but not as hard as Sephiroth. lol

    Plus...it appears that "names" will have to Sound/Fit-in to the Everquest world. Read that yesterday...at least we won't have to worry 'bout names like PlatBot001, Platbot002, Platbot003 ect. image

    Hopefully Simon will make the cut! As well as Roland image

    I'm glad they made it so you can't have names like legolas001 and such that is terrible, takes away from the game i think. and just kinda looks real dumb if ya hear meimage

    Or just terribly misspell it and perhaps add a few numbers at the end. Hey wait, that's like my name here!

    True, but people want to play on certain servers to be with friends.
