I start playing today... this mourning... and I have to tell you something, the performance runs terrible low... less than 15fps... around 10 average... in a computer able to run UT3 just find in an average of 50fps.... and guild wars in max details hit high as 100+ with average of 60 70 and such....
I dont get it... what makes this game so slow... even with all details low... which makes this looks like crap... give you a minimun of 30fps....
30fps looking at crap... not so kindy at all... if you got my point....

it must be your computer , if u look at my sig u will see what computer i have im running the game on Max settings with a resolution of 1680 x 1050 and i have no slow down what so ever , maybe u should do a clean wipe and reinstall windows give your computer a fresh start it may help it may not , what graphics card u using? ATI or Nvidia? im not sure what else it could be.
Edit : ok i just re-ran it to check my FPS and im getting around 67-59 in towns and in open ground about 90+
all max and very smooth. looks nice and almost fluffy and i cant say i got top notch rig, rather old crap (apart from gfx)
phenom 9500, 4 gigs, 1000gb, 3870 CF, dunno what else....
Something that really bothers me... is that in this game... i get the same ammount of fps with CF on and off... but only happens here... and I had this same issue with the other version in malasya.. english one... months ago.. with other configuration, a crappy one by the way.. I think that one had a athlon 5200 with a 8800gtx, only 2 gig on those days...
This computer is vista....
I have an opty 165 o/c'ed at 2.5ghz - So, it's about the same as an AMD x2 4800 in performance. Only 2 gigs of 500MHz RAM and a single nVidia 9600 by evga. Running Vista 64 bit.
The game runs smooth as glass UNTIL in the main city. Most of which is my hard drive that I need to replace. In the cities, both CPU usage and disk access go way up. So, I believe that replacing my hard drive will take care of my city studder issues.
Not sure if you have already or not - Disable the following services in Vista unless you have a very FAST hard drive setup (low seek and high transfer):
... and disable System Restore. All of these four things together will end up making your hard drive nearly used 100% of the time. Which kills game performance.
what is windows search suppose to do???
Windows Search is basically an extended verion of Microsoft's Indexing Service.
Essentially, it catalogs your entire hard drive by recording every file and all of its summary information into a compact database. This allows searches in Windows to go MUCH faster, because instead of searching the hard drive - it can first scan the database and find files that interest you by things like filename, artist name, genre, etc.
The problem for a power user or gaming rig is that it constantly scans the files. It does stop, but any time you ever start modifying files or the system is idle it starts recording again.
The first thing I noticed about Vista is that I stopped everything that I was doing and watched the hard drive light. It was constantly doing something. I closed all my programs and it continued to thrash about on the disk. So, I went into Task Manager and clicked the Resources button and it displays a real time graph of every major resource in your computer and the processes that are responsible for the activity. Most of the disk IO was being caused by the services listed above.
As soon as I shut off the services, the disk went quiet and a lot of studdering in and out of game went away. It's a neat concept, but unless you have a solid state drive or a 15k scsi with super low latency - I wouldn't recommend it if you play beefy games on the system.
Here's an idea for you. I have a bit of an older machine and PW runs slow and choppy, around 14 fps. If go into the options and turn off shadows, it get smooth fps around 60. I don't know why its's like that but what the hell, give it a try. Oh and i have to do the same thing in PW-MY as well.
this is weird.. the only way i can make the game run a bit faster is taking down the water details all the way down... and i get around 30fps...
windows search is off by the way...
I am also having performance issues, how do i shut off all of that crap? I have 5 gigs of ram, 2.2 quad core processor and a 256MB Geforce 9 series video card. Not the greatest card but I can run Requiem at full settings with now lag at all.. I have my Nvidia control panel set up for performance instead of quality and I still lag unless I shut all of the settings off. Any idea how I can shut off that stuff superfetch etc.
Thanks,
Dustin
I think this thing runs like crap on vista... not sure... dont have a way to find out...
Hello,
Yeah I don't understand what is going on every other MMO I play, WoW, Sword of the New World, Requiem, Cabal, Dream of Mirror I can run at full settings it is quite frustrating, I tried to disable superfetch and windows search with no luck, only thing that makes it run smooth is shutting off every video setting.. Oh well I can still play but its just jerky..
Thanks,
Dustin
I set the water setting all the way down and it does a bit better
i run vista 64bit and have no problems i see u have a ATI card , well im guessing u do , try and install some old graphics drivers it may sort it out for the time being , just to test to see if it works.
new ati drivers getting screw????
