I was in beta and tried out all the characters to about level 7 , and my main was a lvl 14 Bright Wizard. I would be happy to answer any of your questions
Quick question ........ I noticed the ranged nuker for "Destruction" is the Sorceress. Does this mean if I want to play a pure offensive caster I am forced to play a female toon or is there a Sorcerer (or a male toon version) as well?
I got some questions .. maybe they have been asked before but bleh its a jungle of WAR posts.
How is the crafting ? Crappy Crafted weapons VS quest/reward weapons? There are no crafted weapons Is there any gathering skills ? (mining, lumberjacking) etc. Yeah, I think there are 3 Are there boats? Custum houses? No housing Could you decorate your amor with heads of fallen players or anything cool like that?
I didn't want to start a new thread asking this, so I'm glad I found this one....
Has there been any information made available as to the start time of the Preview Weekend? I'm just curious whether I should be *hack* *cough* and whispering into the phone to the boss to avoid missing out on 'my' anticipated preview.

Sorceress can be male or female. Only Witch elf is locked in as female on Dark Elves.

Do swordmaster and shadow warrior level well together and rvr well as a team, are both of the classes mentioned fun to play?
Swordmaster is a tank, but you will find that enemies will go straight at the Shadow Warrior. The Swordmaster should be spec'ed with this in mind. Stick with 2hand weapon, maximize strength and weapon skill, spec as DPS down the 2hand weapon path, and always Taunt their enemies. The Taunt makes it where the Swordmaster will do 30% higher dps for 15 seconds or until they are hit 3 times. The enemies will be on the Shadow Warrior so you can get 30% boost in dps against these guys nonstop. The Shadow Warrior will need to play defensively, root, run, etc.
It is a great setup for a Swordmaster, but the Shadow Warrior might get stressed out. A way better setup would be a Warrior Priest or Archmage with the Swordmaster so that both of you have some toughness and longevity, and they can stay alive while you beat on the enemy. Good luck.
Are staves used as walking tools in animations or are they strapped to the players back (god I hate that)?
Also yes this may sound like a feeble question request but Its something Ive been waiting for in a number of MMO's and besides that everyone is entitled to free speech

Weapons are by default always drawn. You can press X by default to holster/shoulder or whatever the weapon. They aren't really used as walking tools but they are held up in a cool position while idle.

A Dev said that while they like to work around the clock they need well rested teams for things like the preview weekend launch so it won't be midnight. It will most likely be some time between 10am-12pm est. Friday morning.
Ok, I have one; How big are the biggest fights? 100 vs 100, 400 vs 400, or no limits at all?
The biggest fight i've been a part of was probably 50-60 vs. 70-80 and it was insane. I don't think there are ways to limit it so they can get pretty huge. I would usually try to form a small 6 person team in big fight situations and get away from the Zerg blob. The RvR zones are big and even the biggest battles can be avoided for smaller scale fighting.

Those are open world fights and not instanced?
If that is true, anyone could join in and in theory the whole server could fight in one spot.

Yeah the only instanced fights are Scenarios and they are capped and queued for. This is just open RvR in the World. I haven't seen any method to prevent this, and since at launch some of the servers will fill up and everyone will be in Tier 1 so I am sure we will see some server strain.
Is there a link to a good guide so I can read up about Career Mastery, Renown points, etc... Also are there any better class guides than those on the Mythic website?
I got some questions .. maybe they have been asked before but bleh its a jungle of WAR posts. Going to fill in the blanks left by the other response to this, and add some comments. How is the crafting ? Very basic crafting. Crafting is only for consumable items, so no armor or weapons. You gather resources, click on what you want to make, and make it. Not an in-depth system at all, if you are looking for deep crafting, you will not find it here. Crafted weapons VS quest/reward weapons? See above. Is there any gathering skills ? (mining, lumberjacking) etc. Yes. You can skin animals, collect plants, and something else. I can't remember the last one. I only did crafting for maybe 20 minutes total. Are there boats? No. Custom houses? As stated, no housing. Could you decorate your amor with heads of fallen players or anything cool like that? Yes you can, kind of. Not a specific player head, but you can get trophy items for completing parts of the Tome of Knowledge and finishing certain quests. You can then place a certain number of trophies on your character. Trophies are limited to your class. For example. An Orc might be able to have a head of a dwarf strapped to his belt, while a Witch Hunter would have daggers on their bandolier. Sorry if some might seem silly heh.

If you scroll down you will see some more links to other character career guides for all the classes, lvls 1-15 of each character and trust me its going to be a hard choice if you read it.
Is one realm far more popular than the other? I'd rather play the less popular side frankly. And have you played a white lion? How do they fare in RvR?
In beta Destruction was more popular than Order. But this was also true in WoW beta. Horde was favored over Alliance, but in retail, Alliance had more players on almost every server. I'm guessing the same will hold true with WAR.
White Lions fare about the same as every other melee DPS class in the game. If you can get close enough, you can do some damage. The trouble is getting close enough. The nice thing about the WL is that you can send in your lion to harass a healer. At level 40 they take some time to take down, and recast timer is not that long.
The bad part is your lion is just a tool... I never really felt like it was my partner, or part of my character like it should be.

Correction , Witch Elf is locked in as female on Dark Elves. Witch Hunter is the Empire class, male or female.
